This app is great if your ready for change. It has really given me a lot to think about. I love having that accountability when it comes to my over use of my phone.

Great to start, but glitchy and repetitve

I downloaded Onward and the first night i had it it got me to get Onward Pro for an extra fee per month. I really want to help myself so i did the monthly subscription to have the best opportunity to go forward. The app is based on a chatbot, which probably worked normally for the first 2 days. It then became extremely repetitive and gave me the same slides every time and giving me the exact same advice. I tried to use some of the features including app blocking and it would not let me. I then emailed someone at Onward about it who then told me steps to block the app i wanted to block. It did not work as he said it would and the options he said were on there werent on there for me. I emailed him several days ago back and he has not responded. I tried to take off my Onward Pro subscription, and then it said that it would only cancel the subscription after a year’s worth had gone by. So here I am out 80 bucks, frustrated and no closer to getting past this. I gave it a second star because it seemed like the app had a genuine purpose of helping people although based on this experience and the other review it could be just a money scam.

It’s such a useful and helpful tool. Not without its bugs here and there, but overall one of the very best apps of its kind!

I used the free trial for a week and found the daily check-ins, usage reports, mood charting, skills training and smart filter to be very helpful in reducing the amount of time I was getting sucked into a social media black hole every day. By a lot!! After the trial period ended, I had trouble accessing the functionality of the basic level. I contacted customer service and they were very quick and helpful in getting my issues resolved. In fact, because I wasn’t able to afford the Pro fees, they suggested I apply for their assistance program. I did that, and qualified, so now I can use the Pro level for a little while longer! Very grateful for that, as improving my device usage habits will go a long way toward improving my health, happiness and productivity. Bravo to the Onward team for developing a wonderfully intuitive, easy to use, friendly and beneficial little personal coach! I know it’s just an app, but it feels more like a friend that’s there to help me be better friends with myself. Accountability goes a long way!!

I downloaded this app to block social media apps from being accessible during work hours. This app is set up nicely, very user friendly but evidently bc the apps have constant updates it prevents this app from blocking them. It only blocks them from your browser which is pointless bc no one gets on Facebook on their browsers. It’s nice in theory but until this is resolved this app is essentially pointless.

This app started off cool. For like 36 hours it was cool. I think I was supposed to get like daily changes or help or whatever. Then like 36 hours in it asked if I wanted to try some new feature where it would block some of my apps for most of the day. I couldn’t unlock them. Couldn’t turn off the feature. All I could do was delete the app. No bueno.

Currently I've been using Onward Pro for a couple of days and it's getting the job done! My only gripe is it doesn't do the best blocking Snapchat or Facebook. It does it to an extent, but the app can still be opened, you can still read posts. You can't however view any photos or videos. Snap chat is still pretty accessible For me too. If these things are fixed, I'll be in love with this app.

Doesn’t always block Instagram I’m not sure how to do daily check ins ? Paid for this and not sure if I will continue anymore
