Useless with all the bugs

Wurdwrangler

I love this app. But it has so many bugs that it is completely unusable.

Connecting process is worst ever UX

hiptrigger

Live and Loop don't connect, so many "user is wrong" messages. Not prime time .. made for people who like to fiddle for several hours before they finally here someone else's canned loop.

The app is the problem

mellowstuff

I can't even add four loops before it deletes them when I go to make more. Also very confusing and inefficient. Although, the light pad was a success and creds to Roli for that.

It's good for casuals like me

mcwttrs

I like how I could try the app before buying a block.

Really fun so far

Harambe's revenge

Easy to get the hang of and if you like it enough, you can eventually get the physical devices. So it's actually very clever of them, it's not to limited if you want to try it out but having the actual seaboard and lightbox thing just builds on the concept.

Love the block. Hate the app.

So far I love using my BLOCK and enjoy the touch concepts around them. Unfortunately the app is just way under powered and unreliable. The Bluetooth is not always stable and I find the app often records off beat or completely wrong. Additionally the controls and screen organization is not very good. Clever by design, but not practical when trying to organize clips and diverse instruments. Will be testing BLOCKS with other studio software.

App is pretty awesome!

When this first came out, it was buggy as hell. Everything seems great now. The sheer sonic variety possible with the touch screen modulation is very impressive and worth a download. The sequencer works nicely, you get an automatic count in from wherever you are in the loop and it's really easy to swipe up and queue the next loop for recording during playback. One thing i don't like is the chord function. It doesn't work in conjunction with the scale function very well. You can only choose 1 chord type and it will play that type of chord for every note even if the chord contains notes outside the key/scale. So for example you can't play a mixture of major and minor chords on one instrument. It would be awesome if it could be made to simply play the chords contained in the key whether major or minor, with possible extensions or something. Basically it doesn't quite work as expected. It would also be nice if the scale function worked with the horizontal seaboard view. It could simply snap to/only play the pitches from the chosen scale. A simple volume control for each instrument, per loop would be appreciated as well. Overall, the app is fun! I can't comment on the blocks stuff as I have no intention of ever buying them, but I might just throw down for some sound packs!

Fun, usefull.

Works awesomely with iPhone 6s

Later update not that good.

woznotwoz79

Latest update that adds mixing capabilities is not that great guys. Audio out lost every time I go out and back in to the app.

The worst

App I've seen

Still not user friendly. No inter-app audio or audiobus. Wasted money on Roli Blocks. They only work with this 1 app so they can't compare to universal controllers. Zero star rating on the Blocks. Zero on the app.
