A NEW APPROACH TO MAKING MUSIC
Your touch screen becomes a real musical instrument with NOISE, which lets you shape sounds by drumming the screen, gliding your fingers along it, pressing into it, and lifting off. You make music through intuitive gestures on a grid of colorful pads. Each pad is a particular instrument or a note in a scale.
AN INSTRUMENT AND A STUDIO IN ONE
NOISE makes you both a performer and a producer. Start by choosing from custom-made sounds that range from bongo drums to string sections to zithers. Shape those sounds into beats and melodies, and record them as loops. Then mix and match these loops and build amazingly multi-layered songs.
DESIGNED FOR LEARNERS
If you love listening to music but don’t think you can play an instrument, NOISE may change your mind. It’s a fun, interactive learning tool. In Learn Mode, just trace illuminated Light Trails to learn how to shape beats and melodies. Choose from one of 15 scales, and the notes of that scale light up on the grid. Turn on Hide Mode to always stay in tune — it hides notes that not in the key. Use Snap Mode to stay in time — it snaps your performance to the tempo.

Innovation without clear instruction

The program is great but in order to get people use you need instructions you tube videos beyond covers of Michael Jackson songs. The entire concept of a new keyboard is fascinating, but where are your teachers?
Amazing Sounds, Great Hardware, Walled Garden

I downloaded this app to use with the Roli Block controller, and I really love the sounds I can get when using the controller in conjunction with the app. The app & controller do not play well as a pair outside the Roli ecosystem though. For example, loading the AUV3 version of the app into an external host like Cubasis, AUM, or Audiobus causes the controller to revert to the default mode, and you lose the 5D touch control for the (much less gratifying) basic MIDI. I love the sounds, but I need to be able to get those sounds into the other iOS recording tools to really be able to leverage how wonderful this hardware is. Developer request: Either support the 5D touch in the AUV3, or allow the core app to be used in Inter-App-Audio mode so that the sounds can play well with others. Thanks!
Horrible audio quality

The roli hardware works fine in garage band, although with limited features. Works perfectly fine on my Mac. However this app on my ax’s MAX is absolutely dreadful! Intense delay is common and also very low but rate for audio along wish constant hissing, popping, and skipping. SKIPPING! I haven’t heard that since I owned a CD player! Definitely don’t get the hardest if you plan to use only this app. If using 3rd party app, especially on a computer, the hardware is really fantastic. Shame the hardware is only as good as the software running on it. Roli might want to take a page from Apples playbook here considering it’s a very similar model in hardware sales. Offer the best software for the best hardware!

Not able to switch sounds from block and also ui is not aligned with new UI guidelines. Does not work with Bluetooth headphones
Noise is a game changer

Could Roli improve certain aspects of Noise and add some much needed features? Absolutely. However, I think it’s easy to focus and get caught up on the small things and miss the overall picture. With the things that Noise needs to work on, overall, this app is absolutely incredible. Period. I’ve written an entire album using Noise exclusively, other then some added guitar,key and vocals tracks. Sounds huge. It’s an incredibly intuitive app. You can bend notes and do things a regular midi keyboard can’t do. You can play it more like a guitar then a keyboard. The added effects took it to another level. If they added 6-8 channels rather then 4 and added more sound packs, that would be the icing. Get past the initial discouragement period and soak this app in. I’ve bought Many virtual instrument apps and Nothing comes close to what Noise can do. I’ve got the tracks to prove it;-)

So far it looks like a decent app but when I try to sign in to my account it keeps saying i have poor WiFi connection when I know for sure I’m connected so could u plz fix this?

The latency is so bad, I can’t use the app on my iPhone. Such a disappointment. I’ve been considering getting a Seaboard Block, but my frustration with this app is giving me pause about making that purchase. I’ll likely still do it, but I have to say that I’m wary now because of this app—it’s not a good calling card for Roli.
