To have control

Achencgr

The idea of the app is good. To keep track of your child’s game time. I thought it would lock the switch up once the time is up. NO! It just a reminder that you have how many minutes left. Once it passed the time your child can still play on it whether or not using the app. SO what’s the purpose of this app??? The app only tells you how many minutes your child has play. EVEN AS THERE IS A PIN OPTION BUT WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PIN WHEN THE SWITCH DONT EVEN LOCK UP. PLEASE improve the options of locking up the switch when the time is up. Simple reminders don’t work on 12 year olds!!!!!

Not a great fit thus far

momof1done

Maybe I’m doing this wrong, but none of this is working for my 8 year old except for the time. Otherwise it makes me put in a code every time he wants to play games I already approved during a time I already approved.

Stopped working entirely

Oddity1234

No longer works. Shows no playtime for the whole week. I've done every troubleshooting I can think of.

Barely any control

Digibard

There is no way to control the start time. The max hours is 6, which is fine for school days, but not weekends or holidays. And the controls only work for a single account. And there is no way to just shut it down remotely… you have to physically take it from the children. It’s quite obvious that nobody who worked on this app has children.

Great except!!!

This is a great application. The only thing that could make it better is if you could set a time period such as from 12:00 to 4:00 pm before chores and other school work.

My child hates me because of this dumb app

hdhhdhdbcd

The parental controls make the switch very unfun for my child and he said “Take your fun drained switch back hope your happy with your decision you pretty took all, the fun out of it the switch” And he gave it to me he was very depressed and didn't want to talk to me or my husband and the controls are very unpleasing and not so smart too much controls too much mysfuntion it'll be better without the controls now pretty much 60 pr 70% of kids hate their parents because of this. you think your financial gain is better than love from their kids and happyness from parents. This app is garbage

Excellent

Hey, this app is great, I used it to prank my friends and set time limits on them and man it was fun!

Cannot block viewing of Mature eShop titles

Sean'siPad111

I allowed my kids to browse the Nintendo Switch eShop and found that ALL Switch games were being displayed, including numerous M (Mature) games. Those “M” games have provocative graphics in the eShop even if you don’t click on them - eg the depictions of women for Grand Theft Auto (GTA). So I downloaded this app, in hopes that I could allow my kids to browse a version of the eShop in which only games appropriate to their age level are displayed. I set everything up and selected the option to restrict viewing in the eShop. To my dismay, the M games (and their provocative imagery) are still displayed when my kids browse the eShop, on their account! All that the “restriction” does is block a kid from seeing any MORE information about one of those games. For example, if I browse the eShop using my daughter’s account, GTA is still displayed right at the top of the eShop (with the image of the 3 scantily clad women); if I click on it, the eShop displays a screen saying sorry, you can’t go any further, this content is restricted. That’s all that the “restriction” accomplishes. If I enable restrictions, the eShop should not even display the restricted titles. At all. !!!!! Come on Nintendo, I expected so much better from you.

questions and bit concerns..

?????

So for the past 2-3 years I’ve had my switch and 2020 during February, the Nintendo suddenly just went offline and will not connect to the internet. We’ve powered it off completely, went into the settings and even brought it to a place for help, but sadly didn’t work. The parent controls went missing when I got my new phone, and now the Nintendo is not letting me put controls on without the internet and I’m extremely concerned and puzzled on what to do. I’ve tried everything and this is my last hope.. overall a great app and I recommend using this.

Missing some fairly obvious features

pizza_dough

For example I should be able to disable a switch with immediate effect for the day, rather than having a minimum of 15 minutes playtime.
