I discovered this app years ago when I was downloading apps to learn Japanese or about Japan on my iPad and was impressed what I could learn each time. The video streaming works very hard to stay connected and the app is slowly improving in features, but I think it is very behind the times in not letting you connect to Chromecast, Apple TV, or Roku. Budget could have gone to that instead if adding Apple Watch App. Many people want this option when watching at home. At least I do! I would give 5 stars if this feature was added and would make it easier to watch every day. Overall though, the content has grown to focus on current events in Asia more than ever and is a good way to connect Westerners to a better view of what's going on in the East. Something hard to do if you don't speak any of the native languages.

Oh thank you thank you thank you for making this wonderful TV program available on App. I love this channel. In today's glitzy media and shock and sensitized journalism this TV has managed to remain simple and humble like a home baked bread. App is similarly designed to be simple and does exactly what it is supposed to do - without unnecessary bells and whistles!! Can you pls make it Google Chromcastable

Great programing, and exemplary execution. I only wish they had more on demand options, such as Supreme Skills! which is an awesome engineering / craftsmanship show. The app works very well!
No Japanese Option for Japanese Program

I am familiar with NHK's programs; TV, radio, and website. The quality of the material itself is phenomenal. The one major and decisive issue with it is that listening/watching in Japanese is not an option. It should be a no-brainier option, especially considering the potential it has to educate others on Japanese culture and in the language. Perhaps a later update could rectify this issue, but for now it is a major opportunity missed.

I'm a big fan of NHK to get my fix for Japanese news and culture. This app is easy to navigate and has all the programs that I enjoy on it.
Video/AirPlay won't background anymore

Great app and content, but video won't play in the background after this latest update. Returning to the Home screens quits the video (to AppleTV). Please fix this feature.

Great, but one fix needed

The only problem I have with this app is: it starts off vertical format with the TV image small, in the top half of the screen. It is supposed to go to full screen when it is turned on its side--horizontal. It takes a long time to get it to do that, and I have to switch the orientation back and forth a number of times. Often it will only go horizontal if held on the left side up. Sometimes it won't orient horizontally at all. This was not problem prior to the last update. They fix one bug and another pops up!
Live streaming not working starting today

Live streaming fails multiple times today on iOS. It has been fine so far. I hope this can alert the tech support.
