Finding videos needs to be easier

Love NHK World but this new app is not an improvement on the older version. Navigation is not always transparent. For example, it is much harder to find specific videos on demand than before because they are hidden under multiple layers of navigation. Links in the app sometimes open in the browser rather than in the app. Needs better user testing to make the content easier to access.

This was a 4 star app now a 2 as the 8.0.0 update, while being reorganized and adding radio, has LOST ON DEMAND CHROMECAST. I can cast live programming just fine, however on demand is limited to playing on the iOS device (iPhone in my case). NHK please fix. Either way I love the content but need to watch sumo on a Big Sumo Sized Screen!

To whom it may concern¡ i live in USA and i always watch NHK TV and in my iPad, but i do not like the last version in the iPad, i loved last version for iPad i could see the program tv, browse and look for an specific that i like, but in this case i can not do it anymore.

Newest version is useless, refers to website

The newest version of the app is useless. No more live TV, no more on demand programs. Just a link to go to the website. Do not bother installing this app

Before their latest update I was able to get a listing of upcoming programs. Now the interface is not intuitive and it no longer has the listing unless you select “open in browser”. I’ll probably delete the app and just go through a browser.

Before you could open the app and it would auto play. Now? Nope. Gonna miss watching nhk.

The redesign killed usability

If you use this app primarily for the news section, you’re probably fine, but it can’t remember anymore whether I want it to default to news, live video, or VOD, and it gave ZERO help in finding the latter two. I actually had to start asking around online to find the VOD section again. The news section also just looks like its opening the NHK World homepage. You may we well use Safari and not have the extra junk around the edges of the screen. Bad update, would revert if I could.

New update doesnt allow for Video On Demand to be chromecasted. Is this by design? I hope not

I miss the excellent documentaries and other programs like Core Kyoto and food shows. They are no longer available. What happened? Is the new version supposed to be that way? Please bring them back.

Upgrade REMOVED useful functionality

Non-functional iOS7 experience

Surprised and disappointed that NHK could less user experience. Specifically, removal of default Live TV. Secondly, Inability to screen record clips of programming in iOS (which I share with friends family to introduce NHK quality standards). At minimum, please allow users to set ‘default’ view to Live TV in settings
