Great concept, poor execution

This app is excellent when people follow the rules. However, our area gets bombarded by people promoting their own businesses. Add the sponsored posts that never end and the endless posts that treat this app as an online garage sale and it quickly becomes too much of a hassle to find posts you are interested in.


Great app, just one little issue

I’ve been using Nextdoor for about a year now. The developers sent out a questionnaire asking me what I liked about the app and what I would change. I told them I didn’t like the way the app handled hiding posts that you didn’t want to see: every time you hid a post, it would reload the entire page from the top instead of just getting rid of it right where it was and letting you continue scrolling from there. I am VERY PLEASED to say that they fixed this behavior in the app, which was absolutely wonderful! I really appreciate their responsiveness and making that happen. Thank you to the developers! The only issue I’m having now (and I don’t know where else I can post it besides here) is that anytime I hide a post WITH PICTURES, the app flashes a red box and says it “isn’t responding right now” and it reloads from the top. Otherwise, it is been darn near perfect since the last few updates. If they could figure out why it’s doing this and fix it, that would be fantastic! It does it on both my phone and my wife’s phone, and it does it both on Wi-Fi and on cellular.

Just downloaded the app and have a few things to address: first of all, there should be a place for users to easily contact the next app team to report any bugs and UX recommendations(like streeteasy does). Please enable the image slider within the listing, tapping the first image to get to the pop up modal first-this doesn’t help at all. Also the x close button on the pop up modal should be either bigger or the touch spot should be bigger than the x button, because it takes me at least two tries to get it to close and I have tiny fingers.

Our leads delete post that don’t met the guidelines of our HOA board. I’m not sure this was the intent of the app.


Abusive, misleading, deceptive leads

The app was once a great app supported by neighbors who looked out for each other. Now it’s an app with deceptive and misleading posts of false advertisement for unneeded high price product. Neighbors are afraid to speak out cause of a particular lead who is abusive with his power while Nextdoor neighbor does nothing about him. Instead of him being attentive to the message, he instigates the slightest point to make the message appear ranting or soapboxing. Also, when we start a post, we should have the option for the message to be sent as an email or notification. Sadly, the choices to report the lead does not fit the situation(s).

I check this app for everything. I also recommend it for anyone who moves into a new neighborhood in order to keep up with what’s going on.

I have been using Nextdoor for several months. A good platform for a variety of social discussion. I sent several complaints to Nextdoor concerning a Lead at La Contenta and Neighbors to Neighbors from sanitizing and removing postings she does not agree with. She has done this too several members. They have not replied to my complaint or taken any action to resolving my complaint. This is SAD.
