Trash

Virtually Blue

If you’re expecting to use this with music, Ilumi is trash. It does not respond well, whatsoever, to syncing with music. You can expect anything from one solid color to random colors at random times. Ilumi seems to do its own thing when it comes to music. I got this assuming it would sync up with music but a car alarm provides a more consistent light strobe than Ilumi. I’ve contacted the team by email to let them know. They completely wasted my time asking for video and photos to document the issues, only to do nothing it seems. Ilumi fails if you want to sync music to light patterns as it suggests. If you want to have a great light show, defiantly look elsewhere

Ilumi is great

I’ve had my ilumi bulbs for about 6 months and they’re great. They are so much fun to play with and obviously great functionality. I am not the kind of person who wakes up with an alarm so I use the schedule to help turn on the lights when it’s time for me to wake up and it’s still dark outside. The lights will automatically shut off about 20 minutes after I leave my house to go to work and that is also done by the schedule. That to me is honestly my favorite feature because I have them also scheduled to come on every night before I come home so the house isn’t dark. My only issue with my loom he is my husband and I are a bit confused on how to use the app on each of our phones. Allowing him “access” to control them doesn’t work as planned so the way we have worked it out unfortunately only lets one of us to have control at a time. Both of us can’t have the app open to control the bulbs on our individual nightstands. Other than that i love it!

Great light, one suggestion for the app

Jeff X

The lightbulb works perfect, but one suggestion for the developer. When I using 3D Touch for the app, the dialog returns as lights turn on and off and it is really sweet; however, the sign with filling black is on, and the sign with no fills is off. That’s really confusing every single time. Don’t you think the one fills all black means dark while the other is bright which means lights on.

Inconsistent function

Sometimes I go into his app and it acts like it’s new and searched for bulbs. I’ve received the setup screen again even though I’ve already set up the bulb.

Great when it works, HORRIBLE otherwise

Posty3x

This app is alright. When it works, the app is great, there aren’t any problems with the bulb lagging or anything of that nature. However, the second that the app doesn’t recognize the bulb, or something goes wrong with firmware updates, the entire app doesn’t work! I can’t search for new bulbs, I can’t add groups, I can’t do anything! It’s so annoying! I’ve had this problem go on for about a month now, and haven’t found a fix or anything that could be wrong on my end! My internet is just fine, my phone is working, it is a TERRIBLE APP EXPERIENCE! I really wanted to give Ilumi a try because I thought for just haveing one bulb that I would be better off not getting Phillips hue, but I was mistaken, and this was a complete waste of money.

Functionality

So it would be great if the iPhone ( and android) users had widgets that we could have to turn on the light and Siri voice compatibility as well as google voice, also having default colors that you can click on to activate the light would be great too. Overall great light great app

App doesnt work

Freezes and stops responding. Wont connect to alexa skills either.

Love ilumi

jesp

I love my ilumi’s and yes I have several. Two inside and two outside. The only reason for not rating this a 5 is the app scheduler is not the most user friendly. It’s hard to change a schedule and get it to stick. I usually end up deleting the schedule and recreating one. But if you are thinking of buying an ilumi- do it. I have found nothing that works as well.

UI is too complicated

GoldApex

the app crashes sometimes specially when adding a lightbulb... and the overwhelming amount of options makes the app too complicated to navigate they should make a simple interface where all your basic options are in one place and and if you want an advance mode with a bazillion complicated options then have that separately. this is why i won’t even buy any more bulbs because i can barely set it up and figure what the hell im doing with one bulb... also the scheduling part is too much to understand it has options within options within options and i’m like what are you talking about. PLEASE MAKE IT USER FRIENDLY.

Crashes

Crashes every time I try to schedule a wakeup alarm.
