Not keeping past 1 month

No previews available of the videos. App freezes constantly. Can’t fast forward to see if I’d like the class.

Bad Dance Timing!!!

tehallor

I am so frustrated!!! I paid for the six month subscription because they had so many “dance” centered work out videos. However, more than half of them don’t even go with the music!!! (Meaning the rhythm, and timing is all off). This is incredibly frustrating when you are trying to be motivated to work out and get your groove on. At first I thought (unfortunately) that their class leaders had no rhythm. However, after doing a little more research it seems that maybe they don’t have music rights (or lost music rights) to some of the class songs, and sloppily dubbed other songs over. I noticed this specifically in a JJ dance video where the teacher specifically taught a combo to the words of a Cardi B song (I got dollars, I got chains) and then something totally different played (while the teacher was saying the lyrics to the other song) and it did not even come close to matching the timing. I realize as a dance teacher myself, that music companies can be pretty difficult about music rights in public videos, but as a large fitness company, that I have to pay a subscription to, they should be more vigilant at making sure the quality of their videos are high, and not sloppily done with music dubbed over without even making sure the rhythms match. Still in my first week of the 14 day trial, and almost certain I will be cancelling my subscription.

Pandemic lifeline

elpedrino

Since being on lockdown, I have turned to this app, having visited their beautiful midtown NYC location in the past. It has been great trying out different concepts and classes I would have never otherwise tried. Definitely worth the subscription to have full access.

At least it’s inexpensive

RideNoJitney

I’m glad this isn’t particularly expensive because the offerings aren’t great (but a decent substitute while I’m being forced to work out at home). The most frustrating thing is that most of the classes I’ve tried are mislabeled (a lot of “no equipment needed” classes actually do require weights). And a lot of classes claim to be 45 minutes but are actually only 30 something minutes (sorry, but it makes a difference). Today I took a class that was supposed to be a 60 minute HIIT classes but ended up being about 40 minutes of work and FIFTEEN MINUTES of the coach giving a motivational speech at the end about intentions. It was a huge waste of time. Like I said, this will do until I can go back to a real gym, and fortunately it’s not too expensive to keep the subscription for awhile.

Great range of dance, yoga and fitness classes.

I love the Indian dancing, yoga and funky dance classes. My kids like the HIT, boxing and kickboxing classes and my husband likes the strength classes. We hook it up to our cheap projector and have daily classes at home. I can’t recommend NEOU highly enough. We’ve been in quarantine since February and we’re all in much better shape.

Best workout app

Sarahb65931

This is one of the best workout apps in my opinion (and I have tried and paid for DailyBurn and ACTIVE by Popsugar). The instructors are awesome. I love that you can follow certain concepts and bookmark classes that you want to try for later. I love the variety of different workouts- NEOU has truly kept me sane while the gyms are closed because of COVID-19.

Forget it if you’re a beginner

Journeyman2015

It doesn’t matter that their trainers are for the most part certified to my liking, because I am under the strong impression that the members of their creative team have the intelligence of 6 year olds. When I asked for a basic beginner body weight concept, they instead introduced a beginner boot camp playlist. Body weight basics means no boot camp elements, NEOU. Not helping their cause is the reality that if you want to talk to the trainers, their private Facebook group is your only option. That’s something I’m not willing to do because my experience with Facebook groups is that they are toxic and you will not get the one-to-one attention you need. They are going to have to find a way to make private coaching available in-app, because right now you’re paying about 2.5x times too much money for the level of guidance you get. If you’re a beginner, you’re throwing your money away on this app. Period.

Lots of variety but sound is dubbed over poorly

Jane in NY

This is a great app if you like having the option to pick what kind of workout you want each day as there are so many offerings, but at least for the dance workouts, Pilates and yoga (these are the only ones I’ve tried as I don’t like to build my legs with squats, HIIT/boot camp type workouts etc), I find that the music selected for the workouts doesn’t match the dancing well as another user stated (which detracts from the experience), and for the Pilates and yoga the music selection just doesn’t go with the workout/seems too obviously dubbed over after the instructor taped the workout. I got a free subscription through my workplace so am willing to overlook these things but would hesitate on purchasing due to that fact. Otherwise I think the variety of instructors, types of workouts, and levels within the workouts is great. NEOU Please work on syncing the music up better, I think you would gain some subscribers that way!!

I have been using this workout app for a few months. So far I love it. There many classes that fit in my style of workout. And even a class for me and my children. My suggestion to the support team is there should be more new video of every classes updating at least 1 per week. Because I can’t wait to try out the new workout.

Great app - weird bugs with new update

RbfLI

Before the app was updated this app was awesome! I had to update the app and now chromecast nor airplay are connecting, I checked connection with other apps and they’re working. Is this a bug with the new update ?
