Unplanned pregnancy

AlohaMai808

Love the idea behind this app. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful with it within the first 2 months of using it. I got off my Mirena IUD and about 2 months later I was pregnant. I hadn’t had a period in years from being on the Mirena. Around the same time of having my IUD removed I bought the natural cycles app and digital basal thermometer. I began documenting my periods and spotting. I used protection on the days it recommended and even used the morning after pill after a one day period just in case. Obviously the app wasn't accurate as I followed it closely and found myself with a surprise. I also just learned that there have been many women in the same boat using this app, leading to unwanted pregnancies and abortions. My advice is to just always use protection regardless of what the app says and make sure you’re cycle is regular for several months before following the app’s predictions if you’re just getting off of hormonal birth control. And in case you didn’t know, you CAN get pregnant while on your period. This is not something well known and not made clear when using the app.

Something is WRONG!!!!

I don’t know WHAT happened since the app updated but you should go on Natural Cycles Users on FB and see the craziness that women are posting. Everyone’s cover line is messed up. People having their ovulation moved by weeks. Something is seriously wrong with this new update and you need to fix it before you end up with a 90% efficacy rate or worse. There could be lots of unintended pregnancies because of this. You should be very worried and maybe even roll back this update. Something’s seriously wrong with it!!!!

Fantastic fertility tool

For years I’be wanted to do FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) to be more aware of my cycle, but just couldn’t get it together with the paper and pencil method. Now that I’ve been using this for 3 months, I have a much better picture of my cycle and when my husband and I may or may not want to pursue intimacy. It’s been especially helpful as I deal with hypothyroidism, which can cause infertility. Knowing when I ovulate and using an LH test to verify it is great because I can know whether or not my body is struggling. We are open to life and don’t feel we have to prevent pregnancy, but it has been

Love it

I’ve been using it for almost a year. So easy to use and understand. My fiancé downloaded it too so we both keep track. After a couple of months it just became a morning routine to wake up and grab the thermometer so I don’t even think about it now. You won’t regret it.

Love love love this app

Too many of my friends had crazy side effects from medicinal birth control, and just as many have gotten pregnant on birth control. So I gave this app a shot and I’m truly loving it. I recommend to everyone!

I will never go back to formal birth control!

This method of birth control is incredible. It has given myself and my husband a greater appreciation for how my body was created and how amazing it is. I am so happy I chose to have my IUD removed. No unnatural hormones, no chemicals. I highly recommend.

Best Birth Control Ever!

I took hormonal birth control pills for about 6-8 months when newly married and quickly quit. I was always super nauseous and incredibly irritable. I am also forgetful, so if I missed a day and had to double up the next, I could go anywhere because I would throw up from my nauseous ness. I quit my birth control and throwing up out the window on the way home. My husband and I used the pull out method afterwards for 2 years, but we’re unhappy with it, as many times we feared we could be pregnant and took plan b. I studied how to do family planning, but didn’t trust myself to know enough about cervical mucus and other fertility signs in order to use it. Natural Cycles is awesome because it helps me trust my body and let me know when I don’t have to use protection without worry!

Knowledge is Power

Not only do I feel better since being off of the birth control pill, but I understand my body in new ways - and that makes me feel empowered and in control of my reproductive health really for the first time. Would recommend to anyone!

FINALLY the natural birth control women deserve

I am definitely not against hormonal birth control methods; however, I unfortunately had a horrible health scare because of a reaction to hormonal birth control. As a newlywed & only 23 years old, I felt like my only birth control options were to use birth control methods that I wasn’t personally comfortable with or continue to risk my health... and no woman should EVER feel that way. Thankfully, at my lowest point, a sweet friend introduced me to Natural Cycles. My husband & I researched it thoroughly & we were shocked to learn that the clinical trials suggest that Natural Cycles is MORE effective than the pill! So we decided to give it a try - best. decision. ever. First & foremost, my health problems that resulted from hormonal birth control have disappeared because now every step that I take towards contraception is 100% natural. It took a couple of months for me to get used to it & for Natural Cycles to hone in on my unique cycle, but now it’s just the simplest routine. I’ve learned so much about my body! I feel so empowered knowing that I’m in control AND getting healthier by the day!

Pregnancy avoided!

I’m allergic to the ingredients in most forms of birth control, so I’ve been using apps for years to track my cycle. When I switched to Natural Cycles my boyfriend complained that I should just stay with a free service and not pay to add my temperature, especially since I’ve never had more than 5 day’s variation in my cycle in 16 years. This month I got sick just before ovulation and my temperature showed that ovulation was delayed by a week. I was skeptical at first since it also said my period would be delayed by a week, way more than it ever has been in the past, but I took precautions and my period started right when the algorithm said it would. With my previous service I would have almost certainly gotten pregnant this month. The algorithm is amazing, but support for importing previously collected data is a big need, as I had 16 years of info that I couldn’t transfer, even when I tried to do so manually. You can scroll into the past, select a date, and add data, but when you finish entering that data you’re taken right back to today again and have to scroll all the way back. This is very unhelpful when you’re entering 5 period days in a row to the cycle three months ago.
