Please Bring Back Title Searching

Joshua D.

You've always been able to enter barcodes in this app to add things like movies and games to your inventory list. But, you also used to be able to just type in the name of a title and search through, Amazon I think it is they use, for that title. Which is important when you enter a barcode for a movie or game and nothing shows. Yet, with one of the recent updates you've taken away the ability to enter anything but a barcode number. No longer can I type in a title name to find and add it to my list. I really don't understand why an important feature and function like this would be removed. Decisions like this continue to astound me in the world of applications. Would you please add back the function in the search feature that will allow us to enter more than just a barcode number when adding titles to our list please? Thank you if you'll do so. I just bought a new Xbox One game that I want to add to my game list in My Stuff 2, but cannot do so because nothing comes up for the barcode number when entered. But if I had the old function back of being able to just lookup the title of the game. Well, then I could add it to my list and just input the barcode number in the custom spot I have in my game inventory template, specifically for these cases. I know the game is on Amazon, that's where I bought it. But I can't search for the title anymore besides using the barcode. Really unhappy about this change. Again, please, please, please make the app how it used to be. This new change has made My Stuff 2 a lot less effective to use and it's disappointing in my opinion that you would remove such an important feature of the app. Thanks and God bless.

The app developer avoids providing any assistance by foisting inquiries off an an email address that does not receive anything. Pretty despicable.

Product search

Have been using for years, excellent app. Please Bring back the product search for those times barcode scan doesn't find the item.

Limited but Lots of Potential

Nathan Sheldon

I’ve had MyStuff2 Pro (and many previous versions) for at least 5 years and even purchased the branding removal in-app purchase. The app has great potential and lots of features. Unfortunately, the elimination of textual searches and robust automatic data input based on search results in late January 2018 has crippled the usefulness of this app. To the developer’s credit, it’s not his fault. When I contacted him about it last month, he promptly replied that the data source no longer exists and that he’s still looking for a suitable replacement. Nonetheless, this crippling limitation is holding up my home inventorying project, so I’m forced to look for alternatives. PROS: Extremely configurable. Reasonably priced. iCloud integration and multi-device automatic synchronization via iCloud (or other cloud services). CONS: Limited online search and auto fill capabilities (as of this writing). Only basic pre-defined lists and categories. You’ll spend a lot of time creating your own categories and lists to be used in item entries.

Nail Polish and Nail Stamping Plates Inventory

Sparkle-N-Glitter

Since February or March 2015 I have been using MyStuff2Pro and singing it’s praises. For me it works to my satisfaction. I use it to inventory my growing collection of nail polishes and nail stamping plates. I do nail art as a hobby for myself. I am able to create my own fields to my specifications. The two most helpful features for me are: unique entries for numbers. Because I assign a UPIN or “Unique Polish Identification Number” and I never want to accidentally duplicate a number. And the second feature that saves sooooo much entry time are custom drop down menus, with the ability to add to said list on the fly. This is not the app’s fault, just a consideration depending on your inventory needs: I use to add pictures of the polish swatches in the polish inventory collection, but once I found out purples are notorious difficult to catch true-to-life, not too much unlike the internet feud over What Color Is The Dress. Since I didn’t want to have a fuss over that, because if I can’t show an accurate swatch there’s no point, so, I deleted all previous polish pix. I *DO* currently have pix of the plates, generally snagged from the internet depicting the etchings. I don’t know if it’s changed since 2015: but when you first open it, it is daunting and there was no cohesive tutorial to get one started. But I am usually able to troubleshoot things like this. So step one was to delete all of the default starter entries. I wasn’t creating an inventory of a store or household for insurance purposes. Then throughout some trial and error and perseverance, I stuck it out and never looked back. I am still happy with this purchase.

Don’t buy this app

AAG original

Very unsatisfied, I feel cheated. At the beginning the app included different features, such as scanning barcodes and access to an online database that provided substantive information on the book (number of pages, author’s name, editor, etc.). At some point, the developer messed up and now you no longer have access to the scanning feature (i.e. you have to include the barcode manually) and the information that is pulled out from the database is just the name of the book and sometimes a picture. If you want all other information recorded you have to input it yourself, manually. This is deceptive and a waste of money, why would anyone pay to have an app that makes you do all the work? I wrote to the developer and he replied along the lines of “sorry, that is the way it is now”... terrible.

Has potential

Good guy finish first

I don’t write reviews, because I’m very careful in avoiding things I don’t need. Many apps have a ‘Ton’ of ‘Features’ but No benefits. One should easily be able to use the ‘Features’ for productivity, not use productive time learning the Features. ... has potential... make it “Simpler”.

Ok. Needs some help

Wish the scanner worked better. Also, adding categories like furniture is totally awful. Love the app but needs work. Been using this app for years. It really works. Just needs tweaked.

Inability to search or use the barcode has ruined this app

MollyMS

I have been using this app for several years and loved it so much I talked my siblings into purchasing it (unfortunately at this time). The recent loss of the ability to search and the inadequate fix on the barcode portion has made this app pointless. The fix on the barcode search rarely works and since we have no general search option, you are stuck manually entering every bit of information. If the barcode search does work, the only thing it adds is the movie title (it no longer includes the genre or price). While I will be the first to admit I do not know the first thing about creating or maintaining apps, you would hope the developer would ensure a product they were paid for functions properly. I am hoping they fix this product soon as I do not want to have to purchase, what used to be, a lesser inventory app.

Great App

This is a great app better than other ones. But I would wait until the developer gets it updated because the scan and search functions don’t work at all. When they were working it work pretty good.
