Mystery Trackers Paxton’s creek

I enjoyed all of the previous Mystery Trackers games, but this one is really boring! Way to many stupid puzzles and not enough HOS scenes. I was so disappointed, won’t buy another Mystery Trackers games again. Waist of money!!

Paxton creek - Elf is back - in a tuxedo!

Elf the puppy is back to help you solve another case. You will find grown men hiding in all sorts of places, pieces of photos and morphing objects to collect. No vermin, suitable for all ages. Verdict: enjoy!

A great game!

My favorite part in Mystery Trackers is the helper Elf, a cute little dog, but in this game, besides your sidekick, you also get a gadget, Thermo Scope, which aids you to find the villain's path. Also, collet the figurines, they assemble a nice little orchestra which actually performs! The game is fun, graphics are clear, though a bit gloomy. It's worth to buy it, especially for sale price. Good job, Elephant!

It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's .......Elf?

UPDATE: I've deducted a star because I find that acquiring inventory items is glitchy at times. In addition, I had the correct solutions to some puzzles, or parts of some; and the game did not pick it up. I even checked the Strategy Guide, which showed I was right. For example, there could have been more than one solution; but you had to use the game's solution (one where you switch numbers around so the sum of the columns add up to the top numbers, and the sum of the rows add up to the numbers on the far most right). Very frustrating! This storyline appears to be comprised of a twist off the old "Phantom of the Opera" theme with a theater as the focus of your investigation. Feelings of mystery and suspense are elevated as you explore the vacant theater with its many rooms full of left over stage props, costumes, various musical instruments, old peeled posters on walls, crystal chandeliers hanging above, trash filled grounds, furniture covered in white sheets, and underground tunnels while the only sign of human life are the unfortunate stragglers who are hiding under the seats from the mayhem caused by a menacing masked figure. Yes, Elf, our faithful, beloved canine companion, has acquired slight supernatural abilities, such as "flying leaps of fate," which earn him the right to be named "Super Dog"! The graphics are slightly muddy or washed out; they could be sharper or crisper. The colors are heavy on darker shades of blues and purples giving a visualization of redundancy. There are some nice background animations, such as bottles moving and cakes or fruit depleting upon touch. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. You can customize your settings. In custom mode, the teleport map, which appears as a theatrical pamphlet that opens up, indicates active tasks. The map also holds the journal, which records light story progression. I love the symbolic frog character used for the hint button. The HOS are varied and interactive; I love the silhouette type where each musical instrument plays a tune when touched. The puzzles are varied and fairly simple; I love the multi-layered, sequential puzzle boards that contain numerous mini puzzles. You collect various items; you can see for yourself what they are. Overall, this installment is very simple, linear, and not much of a challenge. The last two games were better.

Really enjoyed this one, loved the little helper in a tux, on the shorter side but had morphing objects and a transporting map ? ...and it's not so dark as I find a lot of BF games. Definitely worth the sale price...

Lots of Action With the Paxton Creek Avenger!

Love these Mystery Trackers games, and I would never pass one by! By Elephant Games, they are the greatest! My favorite part is the help of my little Mini Pinscher, Elf, who fetches all sorts of clues for me, the detective. This time your boss has given you a tricky task, to rescue his own 19-year-old daughter from the clutches of the Paxton Creek Avenger, a man who hates the Mystery Trackers. This guy dresses like the Phantom of the Opera, and baffles his audiences with magic tricks while doing evil. Throughout the game, you run across guests of the opera who are still in hiding from him. Each scene has Morphing Objects to collect. The Hidden Objects are often the Find a Shadow Shape. If you took music lessons as a child, now is the time to use them, as you collect musical notation and play notes on the piano. This chapter whizzes right along with brisk action; no boredom here! As usual, great Skip, Hint, and Strategy Guides help you enjoy the game! Have a great time!

Gotta Love Elf!

Great adventure- Would have liked Elf to have had a bigger role in the game. Special effects were outstanding, enjoyed the hidden objects, puzzles ( which were challenging but very sensitive.) Great teleporting map. Overall, very well done game with lots to enjoy! KdBoots

Good for the price

So far I am pretty happy with the game. The music theme is an added bonus for me... I gave 4 stars. If I still love it at the end I will upgrade the rating.

Fantastic!

I love this game. The storyline is good, the graphics crisp and clear, and the puzzles are great fun! Elephant Games have always been my favorites along with Blue Tea. Thank you BF.

Mystery Trackers:.Paxton Creek Avengers by LynxMinx

Good solid game, but not worth 5 stars. You could customize your settings. The graphics were not as bright as I prefer and it was a bit taxing on my eyes. Loading was instantaneous between locations and there was a marked, if so customized, teleport map to transport you there. At each locations are morphing objects, picture puzzle pieces and collectible figurines. I am not into collectibles so I don't really care! Inventory was labeled and there were plus, or complex, items to assemble. The HO scenes had variation to them. The puzzles had a lot of rotational stuff but there were a few new and original ones as well. Some of the puzzles were glitchy! Each location had a lot to do, but there weren't tons of locations. Your buddy Elf is there to retrieve things and you get a couple of neat gadgets to work with. I deducted a star because I felt the game was a bit short, even with bonus adventure, and I felt the game was glitchy at times. The glitches occurred during mini-games and a couple of times the game froze. Also inventory placement was difficult on occasion. No lost progress or fatal flaws, just annoying glitches! This was still a decent game and fun to play. Thanks for no RATS, Elephant!l BigFish, we need you to bring us more than one game in this genre per week!
