Ending support for MyCloud 3.0

Just like that you are ending support for WD 3 device! I purchased MyCloud 3.0 in the year 2015 and now it is not usable? What makes you think that the money we put in to the WD Cloud 3.0 device is worth less? All you security related excuses for your action are completely crap and unacceptable. Just because you want to earn more money, you cannot force us to purchase a new device! What is the guarantee that you will not end the support for WD Cloud 5.0 in future? Looks like this is a scam. This is an eye opener for all of us who purchased WD MyCloud 3 device. People may fall in to your money trap once but not again and again. I am not going to purchase MyCloud 5.0 Note: Those who are purchasing WDMyCloud 5.0 devices, beware that once WD decides to end support for WD MyCloud 5.0 your device will not work and the money you put in will be lost. It’s as simple as that.

Typical WD garbage, never really works and a waste of time to figure out how to use it. Has WD ever made a software that was good and easy to use, because I’ve never seen one. Why did my waste my money on this garbage system, when all the software looks like an amateur designed it!

Horrible upgrade!

As I keep receiving emails saying I will loose remote access soon if I keep using My Cloud 3, I decided to finally upgrade to 5 and it is just as horrible as people have described. I have followed the steps OVER AND OVER and it still will not complete the sign in to allow for cloud access! Thanks WD you took something that was working pretty good and threw it out the window for something that is not working at all.

Auto backup metadata overwritten

Plex and other metadata reader shows “Creation date” and “Modification date” were overwritten by the back up date. Date time digitized are kept the same, which is what iOS app read as “Creation date” when sorting. Improved interface from OS 3.

After hours of trying to update from OS3 to OS5, I find out it is not possible with my model. They said I need to buy a new one. Didn’t know it had an expiration date. Is this how business is done now, just turn off key features and force people to buy new ones?

App works well in background but UI not optimized for modern iPhones with Notch
