It’s ok

I was told that, on an IPad, I could add my own favorites to the program. If that is true the feature does not work. I can only select items from their food list. Calorie counts for most of the items is incorrect so you have to fiddle with the amounts in order to get a better estimate. Breaking down amounts like pizza is a crap shoot. Rather then giving the calories per slice they give whole pies. Yes I could divide but slice counts would be better. Apparently the only way to cook skinless chicken is breaded. Interesting I grill skinless chicken all the time and never breaded it.

The app does not allow for entering exactly what I ate. Ex: I had an Arby’s Grand Turkey sandwich, it has bacon but I cannot add it. In addition, the calories allotted were either higher or lesser than what I ate. Having the list available is helpful but I need to be able to customize my diet entry. Like another user that stated they needed the ability to edit the dates of dietary entries. I too made the mistake of completing my entries after midnight and was unable to change it. We need the capability to enter data at our convenience and to customize those entries.

Not bad, but......

This is a good app, but there is room for improvement. First, there is no way to change the date of what you are trying to enter. When i was entering my meals from yesterday it put them on today because it was after midnight when i finished inputting the data. Second, the exercise calorie count is very generic. I have a treadmill that does incline up to 11 degrees and that drastically changes the calories burned during the workout. There is also no way to set how fast you were going. In 30 minutes of walking at 5.5 km/h on a 7 degree incline i burned 196 calories with a distance of 2.74km. This app only gave me credit for around 130 calories. And third when choosing what our meals are it would be helpful if we could select what items were used. For instance my meal last night was spaghetti macaroni with lean ground pork. I also sprinkled some parmesan cheese on it. But there is no way that i see to edit the entry. I’ll give this app a 3 star for now. If you upgrade the app and make it better I”ll revisit my review.

Not anybody’s dream app!

Ok, I tried it for 2 weeks - until I discovered that the Move! App was “charging” me more than double the calories on my carton of almond milk. And entering a recipe is impossible, because the app assumes that the whole freaking recipe is 1 serving - like, 1,000 calories for a recipe that serves 8. I couldn’t possibly eat the whole thing! It also seems overwhelmingly weighted in favor of fast food, not homemade, fresh food unless you want to enter every single ingredient separately. In single serving portions. Was it a good idea? Absolutely. Too bad the execution didn’t come close to measuring up. The “favorites” function is all but useless. Oh, yeah. I had to download an additional app to track my blood pressure - which, for some of us, is kind of a big deal. You might think that’s not much trouble, but, trust me, it is.

KOKO... I agree 100%. I just want to touch entries into my diet journal; but, with no scanner and poor choices: I typed in Sausage and got sausage, biscuits and eggs meals; I tried Sausage beef, got tons of pork sausage options, argh! Way too much work for a single food entry. No thanks. Oh please, don't even offer a different FDA nutrition label than the one I already have in my hands, puh-lease? This could be great, right now, I'll use something like MyFitnessPal app, free. MFP lets me enter a whole days diet in the time it takes me to make up a breakfast I didn't eat in M!C. MFP has more free nutrition options, and their free updates are quicker than M!C too. Groundwork is here on the education side; but, this app needs major tweaking for me to want to use it on a daily nutrition entry basis; but please, fix it? Move! Coach currently is so, "Not close enough for civilian work."

Very inaccurate

Very frustrating in seeing app has not been updated for nearly a year, this explains a lot. Calculations are sporadic and report incorrect results on data retrieved. Weekly diet report is very annoying when trying to report to nutritionist weekly activity. Please update app so it can be used as it has the potential to be.

Custom entry
Fergy64

The program is good and it does help track the calories and activity. However, when trying to add a custom item when it gets to the screen that asks if I want to enter additional information I can’t see anything because the screen to enter numbers is in the way and no way to hide it.

Needs Updating

I just barely started using this app and it does not have certain foods that I eat in it. It would come in handy if they have a bar code scanner so you can scan the food so he can be easily be found. Need to have a setting to where you can connect it to like your Fitbit or any other fitness apps on your phone. I use MyFitnessPal because they have all these options. I wanted to use this app for the VA side so having it to connect to my fitness pal would be helpful with uploading what I already put in and not having to do it again.

Outstanding App has helped me with my weight loss

I have found this app extremely helpful and user friendly! I have used it over the past 1 1/2 with my weight loss journey towards my Gastric Sleeve surgery. Thank you VA for creating such a great tool for us Veterans!

Strange diet entry options

I wanted to use the app primarily as a food tracker. But I went to input my meal and couldn’t input simply skinless chicken breast... All options were for breaded. I cooked green beans and chicken with some coconut oil, nothing complicated. The app should allow custom entries, so I can find the calorie/fat amount on WolframAlpha and just input the data.
