This app was developed to help Veterans, Service members, and others learn how to practice mindfulness. It offers exercises, information, and a tracking log so that you can optimize your practice.
Mindfulness Coach was created by VA’s National Center for PTSD and DoD’s National Center for Telehealth & Technology.
I am only a military veteran's wife using this app but let me say...this is a wonderful resource!! The purpose this app serves is beyond fantastic....its praiseworthy!! I can only imagine the level of healing that can begin in someone struggling with mental illness from any source. Thank you to everyone involved in dreaming, believing and developing this app!
I'm so grateful for this app—it helped me learn how to meditate this year, and because of that skill I've been able to -get and stay out of a destructive marriage -recover from an eating disorder and have a bee thankful relationship with food -gain awareness of and work on healing an abusive childhood -deal with panic attacks. Thank you!
The first time I tried to use the app the audio worked fine. Now it just gives me something to read. It's really annoying and makes me not want to do the exercises which basically defeats the whole purpose. I followed the link to the VA website, and that was about as helpful as you would expect the VA to be.
This app just angers me more. I'm about to lose my mind so I try its techniques. "Watch the leaves take your worries away". And the ladies voice makes me want to throw my phone. I guess if you really really want to let it help you it would work. But it's useless to me.
Where's the audio for the exercises? How the heck am I going to close my eyes and read the instructions at the same time? Get it together VA.
All the coached mindfulness exercises work great. I like the ability to log my sessions that I use in the app or those I do on my own. Thx!
So disappointed...there's no audio which renders the app useless. Can't follow directions and close eyes at the same time. I'm deleting app :(
I love the idea of this, however in my experience with this app the guided meditations weren't much help. I wanted to practice mindful eating it provided the raisin example, which I have done before but it wasn't much help. I also think the body scan is too long and since I have trouble sleeping and am often exhausted I tended to fall asleep during this practice. I would like to try other programs, but have not looked into any as this is the only mindfulness app I have used this far.
There is no audio for this current edition, rendering the app all but useless.
