Can’t print info

Chiinkwia

Yes this app gets almost all the info you are looking for and builds a nice pretty tree for you. However you can not print out all that nice info. What a rip off! Yes you might find all your family ancestors but what are you going to do with the info? Rip off big time. What the hey did i pay for? Jerks!

Family Tree

Takes some time to learn how to properly use, but the program access a huge database. Frustrated at times, the user may find it difficult to correct errors. One error can throw inaccuracy back generations. Hopefully, I will gain greater proficiency and find my three star rating was low. In spite of some issues, I recommend this program.

Not very user friendly. Not worth the price.

I’m trying to sync it with FamilySearch, and it says there are no matches even though I have over 20 people linked there. Overall the interface is dated, not user friendly, and from what I can see totally not worth the price. I wish I could get my money back.

Great Family Tree app - Needs Background Options

Garfila

This is most I’ve ever spent on an app so I had a lot of faith in it! It is a pretty cool app with lots of customization options. I’ve only been using it for a couple of days now and I’ve transferred my family’s GEDCOM file that I downloaded off Ancestry.com. It said there were a couple of errors/issues such as dates that only had the month & year of birth/death (didn’t include the day of birth) & there’s no options for adding backgrounds to the charts like you can on the Mac version, which I’m Very disappointed about. Besides that Overall it’s a good family tree app.

Syncing is very slow

stewdaven28

I love the app, both the iOS and Mac versions, and I love how they allow me to have a single database on all of my devices. I love all of the features the app offers, but the app runs terribly slow when syncing with FamilySearch and with my other devices. I don’t have too many issues with slow operation on my Mac, but on my iPad it runs so slow it prevents me from being able to use the app until it has finished syncing. Isn’t there something that can be done about this? I can’t even type in something as simple as a person’s name. I would give the app five stars, but I can’t bring myself to do this until this issue is addressed. This is an issue I would learn to deal with, but as this app is not exactly a cheaper app in the App Store, I would expect a little bit better performance for the price I paid. Please fix this ASAP. I would gladly change my rating if/when this issue is resolved.

If it didn’t crash so much.

Just bought this app this morning. So this may be a bit premature, but I am simply frustrated. I spent the money on this app and I don’t usually do that. So here goes. Upon seeing this app for the first time and adding a bit here and there, the first problem I ran into was it’s location/mapping addition. It took me forever to figure out that “Place” meant “As general a place as you can imagine”. I was putting in addresses and all it wants is the actual city. I can’t put in the address, but I can put in that it happens in St. Louis City, County of St. Louis, State of Missouri, country United States. If you were planning on plotting actual locations on that map site, like a church, home, or hospital; good luck! The location/mapping addition doesn’t do that. That was a feature that I was really looking forward to, so that brought it down to 4 stars right away. I decided to start entering pictures... this is what brought it down to a 2 star rating. It crashes a good 60-75% of the time I try to add pictures. It seems the first loads up ok, but when you try to add a second one, CRASH!!! Again... and again.... and again. If both of these were fixed, the app would be well worth the money, but right now it’s suspect. If I had to do it again, I would look for another. Who just wants to look at dates? If you can’t add pictures and the mapping function is so limiting, you’re just buying a place to store dates.

Tree can not be printed/ Crashes / Aristocratic Titels can not be used at all

KUKY

The Family Tree as we all know it, can actually NOT at all be printed, which they advertise for lately. Only complicated & not comprehensive graphs can be printed, and even those can only be printed only partially, and never completely. No one needs such Mathematical Diagrams and Graphs anyways unless you are a scientist. App Crashes in an endless Loop since the recent update. The feature to detect duplicate entries makes it also crash before it corrects duplicates.Duplicates are the Achilles heel of this app, you will be having many of those. And deleting them is a nightmare for the app seems to delete always too much, and one finds themselves re-entering again and again and again until you simply give up. Since Un-deleting to recover such a deletion is NOT possible. Any aristocratic Titles cannot be used at all, and when I wrote to their support, which is the company in Germany, they simply suggested to return my money for they have no time to invest into adding any kind of aristocratic Titles options, and when I asked why, there was NO ANSWER from this shop. A shop that employs only about 20 people. The Mac OS software is also very unstable and they have most people only give one star, and extrem;y bad reviews there, Even the 5 stars there seem to be all fake ones, their own employees gave those. Why Apple does not intervene here, and check that this shop is up to Apple Standards, when it comes to Coding and programming is still a mysterie to me.

Summary

The software is intuitive, easy, graphical, comprehensive and links to Family Search. It is seamless to have the same information on my iMac, iPad, iPhone… This helps when the urge arrives to do research, anytime anywhere.
