Microsoft Sold Out to Spotify

Rooster Tim

So at the end of the year, Microsoft is passing your music info and passes to Spotify. I loved Groove music. I used it for background tunes on my Xbox one. I hate Spotify. Because nucleoside Microsoft decided to discontinue Groove after a very short while, I now rate this (and Microsellout) a begrudging single, disappointed star. Thanks Microsoft!

Weak and buggy

Can they make this app any worse? Try to add one song to a playlist, it adds the whole album. Changes made in mobile not reflected on desktop. Etc. etc. Update 10/11/2015: Still does not sync across devices. I can get it to work one time if I delete and reload desktop library, but after that syncing does not work. Also - the app and desktop/web versions have virtually no extra features at all vs. the competition. The fact that the Music Pass costs the same as Spotify, Rdio and Apple Music is absurd. The only good thing, and this is not minor, is that it provides cloud storage for your library yet you can also play local files without streaming on the desktop. Update 10/14/2015 This app has nothing to do with the other Groove app. I'm wondering if they paid him off. Hope so. Update 10/5/2017 Microsoft is getting out of the music streaming business. They’ll keep this app around so you can play music in your One Drive folder, but I wouldn’t think they’d give it much love. I’d go to Amazon, Apple or Google if you want to play your own music from the cloud.

It’s ok

life long Genesis fan (but with an oppinion that's not bias)

the app is good when it works but it always crashes.

Happy Customer

Really Nice app!

Extremely happy but needs a few developments

Holaoal

I am really glad I came across this app, even though it requires a little bit of hassle, but the results are great and worth it when you don’t want to purchase Apple Music. However, I experience glitches quite often on my iPhone 5s, as when I play a video, the music stops but when I try to resume my song, it doesn’t play and I have to restart the app in order for it to continue. All in all it’s a brilliant app!

Restore GENRE view!

Corvus.Corax.

This app is absolutely worthless for navigating a large OneDrive music collection. Playlists don't work, no genre view, lacks basic music player features. They "update" it often but NEVER make any improvements. How is this possible? Switched to Evermusic.

Unusable.

Okay app. Thought it was better. Says I need a music pass for music that has no affiliation with groove and/or Microsoft. Disappointment of an app.

Much better, still needs some optimizations

Updated Oct 2017: This app seems to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back sometimes. The newest release now doesn't pause the music when you remove headphones from the audio jack. It also keeps playing the music when I make a call so I can hear both the person on the phone and the music. Also, why is it that when I scroll up on the main player the list of songs doesn't automatically scroll to the active song? I have to always scroll down to find the current song (highlighted in blue). Now that groove music is canceled, hopefully they build a decent app that actually can compete with other music apps. I'd love to see a redesigned (written from scratch) app. I have all my songs on the onedrive and would love to continue to listen to them. Updated May2017: There are still many quirks to this app. Shuffle: I always feel that the same songs are constantly being shuffled Skip/Back doesn't work as expected when using the headphone buttons (it doesn't start the song from beginning but instead goes to the previous song) Initial playback of a song starts and plays for 1 second and then starts again. Search: the app never returns results from your OneDrive. Original review: This version is much closer to the windows phone edition but there is one serious issue with battery utilization. Listening to music for 1hr20 mins (with the screen off) ate 62% of my battery! Also, would be nice to get a view of the songs its downloading rather than just x of y downloaded.

Please add CarPlay compatibility

Piscus

This app would be perfect if it would be compatible with CarPlay. The only reason I use Groove is because I have all my music in my personal OneDrive.
