Still not ready....

PonderWhy Main

Saw this app was finally update, quite excitedly. But wow, what a disappointment. I own several hundred albums. Clearly the UX isn't ready for that real world scenario. Where is genre, marking favorites, etc. I can't use this at all really....

NICE!!!

This music is great now after the update.

Great app! A few suggestions though...

I love using Groove Music not only on the phone, but on my Windows 10 computer as well! The ability to easily sync my music across my devices is something that I think iTunes does not support well. Although I could be wrong since I've had no reason to try lately, if I had music I wanted to keep synced across my devices using iTunes, I'd need to plug my phone into the computer every time I wanted to do so. Groove Music's compatibility with OneDrive certainly gives it an edge in that aspect! In addition, I love how fast it loads and plays music (more so on the PC, the mobile app only loads as fast as the native Music app). That being said, I do have a couple of suggestions (though nothing major). First off, the previous Groove "build" (for lack of better terms) had the ability to sort by genre, and that's something I miss in this new build. Secondly, shuffling music from the main "songs" page more likely than not plays initially one of my 10 first songs (out of over 250!). I don't know if this is a bug, a flawed RNG design or what, but after the first song, it plays in as random an order as it gets. Finally, this is just a small pet peeve, but I don't like that it chooses to use Album Artist over just plain old Artist when viewing the main Artists page. Some of my music does not belong to an Album, so the music file has no Album nor Album Artist tag. This causes that Artist to not appear in the Artists page unless they have another song that belongs to an Album. None of this matters to me that much, since I usually just hit the shuffle button and forget about it. However, one thing that I'd really like to have is the ability to use the music position slider thing (I think it's called a "scrubbing bar" or something like that) outside of the app (lock screen and control center). Whoever's in charge of reading this, have a good day!

Fail

Edit: With the latest update, WMA files on OneDrive no longer play at all. Sheesh. Edit: The latest update still didn't fix the issue. I keep trying to listen to WMA audio files stored on OneDrive, and the app can't play them without long delays, skipping, and restarting.

Won't play WMA files from OneDrive

ToughDBlue

I have music on OneDrive as WMA files. Before this last update they would play for a few seconds then stop and the song would start over again. Very annoying. Now since this last update they don't play at all. Others have commented that they have issues with WMA files but it seems Microsoft doesn't notice. Please fix this. I really like Groove on my Windows 10 PC to play my WMA files. Also, this app worked great on my Windows Phone.

Offline playlists no long work

Hallucinogen52

My biggest complaint is that offline playlists no longer work. The only exception is songs stored on One Drive, they play offline. I have contacted MS support several times and no one has any knowledge of Groove Music. Very frustrating considering we pay a monthly fee. Minor issues are that album art seems to change or disappear at random. Some songs that can be played offline on Windows can't be downloaded to iOS. The app looks nicer and has more features now. But I would gladly take the old app for offline play. Groove is useless to me on my iPhone until this is fixed.

Sync Fantastic

Brandonjoew

I love Groove Music for the fact that I can sync my full personal collection and my music pass music across all my devices. I have an iPhone, an Xbox One, a Surface, and a Windows 7 laptop. Apple Music wouldn't even think of working across all those devices. If there isn't a song or album in Microsoft's collection, I can buy the MP3 on iTunes or the physical media at a store and then move the file to my one drive music folder. Then presto, the music is instantly in my collection on all my devices. Not something you could do with an Apple Music subscription or Spotify. I also love the new look of the updated iPhone app. It was pretty basic at first, but it is getting much better with every update. The iPhone app still has a little ways to go before it is as good as the surface app or the Xbox One app. I really want the "my groove" section that was just introduced on the Xbox app to make its way to the iPhone app very soon!!!

After last update app become better, but still doesn't have some functionality like on Windows 10

Adding to playlists broken

I can't add individual songs, anytime I hit add to playlis it'll add about 20 to 200 items every time. I will say that the new app is a lot better
