Room for improvement

I’ve used Mendeley for many years now and it works great. What would make it even better is Apple Pencil support for handwritten notes and markups on iPad. Please make this happen. That’s for a great application.

Really great and app does have highlighting and annotation

Ed & Brooke

Mendeley is one my most essential research tools. It keeps my paper library sorted and organized, syncs across my computers and iPad, and keeps my notes with them. It's simple to import files, (drag and drop on the desktop version or open with in the ap) and citation info almost always reads In Automatically from the PDFs. It's easy to highlight and make notes in the text or summary notes on the side. Just hold down finger in app to start highlight or add annotation. It integrates with word for writing and reference lists. It is free. Really, what else is there to ask for? This system is great. The desktop version is a bit easier to use than the app, but it is nice to have access when I am on the run to check something or make a quick note.

No cloud support

Dedemanli

Funny, in which century are we living...such an up has no support for Dropbox etc. in addition highlights are not visible outside of the app. Guys, please check out the other apps and see how cloud integration and highlight can be written.

Perfect app for managing papers. Reader could use improvements.

The most common use of this app in mobile devices would be to read papers, unlike desktop app where it would mainly be used for managing library. Given that, I'd expect the reader to have more features, or allow external annotations.

Invaluable

My Rating 58

Best reference manager I've found. Easy to download articles, annotate them on PC or iPad, sort, select, search and import into Word with almost flawless APA formatting. An invaluable tool for my dissertation.

Buggy, Buggy, Buggy

Purple_Worm

How is it that Mendeley gets buggier with every update--maintenance or otherwise? The idea for this application is perfect, and the execution, far from it. The latest and greatest errors one can expect from this update: annotations and highlights duplicating and duplicating again, so that one is inundated with many multiples of one's original marks on a document. And, of course, the "notes" section continues to ignore line breaks. Why anyone would pay for this service is beyond me. Update: Again, a maintenance update that offers none of the necessary maintenance. All of the above errors continue to persist. The notes feature, to boot, is now hidden in the editing window for documents. The Mendeley Team is highly invested in improving the 'network' aspects of their application: sharing documents/annotations, etc. They apparently forget, in the process, that the application must be nigh-perfect in individual use before any social use becomes meaningful.

iPhone unhighlight

Elshootoe

Where is it? Does it even exist? It shouldn't be that hard to unhighlight. Liner app has pretty easy option but Liner app doesn't have highlighting for pdf on mobile. If I can't unhighlight with Mendeley on iPhone, then it leaves me with no room for mistakes. That's unreasonable. How to resolve it? Simple. Make Unhighlighting a breeze w/ no questions asked process. I need that mobile pdf highlighter that I can the export those highlights into a CLEAN note form.

I hate the password timeout

The app is mostly OK except for logging me out every day. It's an app for reading papers not a banking system.

Please add Pencil support

Basketball watch

This app is great as a PDF organizer and viewer, but as an app designed to interact with PDFs it falls a little short. Please add Apple Pencil or Bluetooth stylus support to improve the experience

Recently has failed to work

Until recently this was one my favourite go to apps. Recently however, it has been glitching and consistently failing to update. I deleted and then re-downloaded the application, but that has only resulted in me not being able to sign in as the app has frozen.
