2 minute audios..

Mikayla25

Idk how 2 minute audios a day are supposed t help me i was expecting the audios to get longer in order to actually be helpful m once i paid freaking $60 but nope they are still 2minutes and haven’t even mentioned dealing with an ex yet just a partner which only makes thing incredibly more painful!! Not very happy.

Poor Customer Service

Anne's iTunes Account

I notified customer service repeatedly that the all was not working. It would not switch to break up and keep showing me burn out despite many efforts to correct. Mend’s response was to tell me to use a PC instead. They would not issue a refund and referred me to Apple. Horrible customer service!!! Waste of time and money.

Inaccessible for Lower Income People

Melaniekorourke

I’ve used Mend over the years as needed and it’s been enormously helpful in my healing of past heartbreaks. Over the years it went from entirely free to exorbitantly expensive. I understand there are costs to maintain staff, have those great articles, salaries, support… I just wish they had cheaper options for people who can’t afford to spend a minimum of $60 for the most basic level program. It gives richer people access to resources and perpetuates the idea that if a certain class/income bracket of people can’t afford it, they don’t deserve it, and they’ll have to fend for themselves. Elle please make another app for lower income women or create a simpler program that costs less. Something that charges weekly instead of every 3mo.

Infrequent updates and price increases make the app far less compelling

jfh_007

Infrequent updates and price increases have made this app far less compelling to me. I say that as someone who first discovered Mend on ‘Planet of the Apps’ and who used it regularly for over two years. The new domain - burnout - isn’t even available within the app and just links you to the website, which represents a far inferior user experience. Whereas they use to offer a 5 day trial period, you now receive only a 1 day trial prior to having to pay. I’m sure this has greatly decreased the conversion rate. It’s disappointing to see the overall user experience, of a once exceptional app, decline so dramatically. In a world where the cadence of app updates is increasing, this app hasn’t been updated in over 10 months. It’s irresponsible to go that long without updating a subscription app. Do you actually value your subscribers?

Dissatisfied and disappointed

Elinoh

Wow! How much Mend has changed in a few years. I am a returning costumer. Years back Mend saved my life after a breakup. Now, I cannot get technical help anywhere in their website or app. I have paid the full subscription. The app and the website will not allow me to login. I have written more than five emails to the email provided for questions. The only response I received is an automated message promising me that they will call in 3-5 days. No follow up email or texts from them. I feel scammed now on top of being “burnt out”.

Terrible, don’t get suckered in

jS980!

Prompts and lessons are superficial, ineffective and poorly designed. Ready to delete by day two which was unfortunately already suckered into a membership. Don’t fall for it. There is no customer service support, no refunds and they hide behind excuse of not responding to inquiries if you sign up through the App Store which is generally what you’d do if you’re downloading an app through your phone. It’s a scam. Don’t sign up.

easy to use and really works but not enough self care

jnick4732

I just resumed my subscription for a second break up. I found mend a few years ago when I was truely heart broken when I broke up with the man Who was my soul mate. I really do attribute mend and the journals to helping me get back on the horse and in another healthier relationship just 4 months after. I honestly don’t think I would have said yes to him and I would have missed so much love. So here I am, break up again. Different reason different circumstances and mend is bringing new and different things out in me. The only thing that really irks me about the app is how few “self care” choices there are. I wish there was a “fill in the blank option” I would love to keep track of my self care but there what they have doesn’t fit me and what I do. Like spa. Spa should totally be an option.

From an LMHC, pleasantly surprised ?

I never write reviews but this one deserves a nod. I have downloaded plenty of self help apps over the years and have fallen off after a couple days or have found them to be clunky to use. Mend is truly helpful. I downloaded it because I was going through a heartbreak that I really couldn’t let go of, and 3 months later, I can truly say that it’s getting better and Mend has been a part of that. Also noteworthy, I’m a licensed mental health counselor so I have pretty high standards (and also skepticism and lack of patience) with this stuff. Why it works— the practices are short daily audio clips with short journal prompts that you can just type into your phone (or I got into the habit of voice-to-text it). You can log your mood for the day (with cute icons), self-care activities, and read articles. So it’s all intended to be a short and sweet daily practice. Less than 5 min, really. And knowing what I know about psychology, that’s why I think/know/have found it works. Also, the app is just really user friendly and pleasant visually. I spent the money for 2 of the programs and I plan to continue to explore what else they have available, even though I’m at a place where I don’t really feel I “need” it anymore. Really nice work to the creators of Mend. Bravo in your intention and execution. ?

It’s alright, but needs a lot of updates for the price

Librarygirl956

Mend is an alright app. After breaking up with my long term boyfriend after realizing I was a lesbian, I was in need of ANYTHING to help me process. Mend did help. The trainings were usually useful, and I liked that there were guided journal prompts for each day. I also liked that it kept track of how many days it had been since I contacted my ex. Needed that so I wouldn’t fall into old patterns. Mends downfall is that it does not track any of the data that you give it each day. Show me a graph for check ins and self care. I want to see if I’m improving, what I do on my good days that makes me feel good, and if Sundays are really the days I get hung up. Also, if you skip a day, you don’t “unlock” any new trainings for the days you missed. This felt like wasted money to me. I went camping for a weekend and did not have service. Essentially I paid for those days of mend, but missed those trainings because I could not log in. Not sure if that makes sense, but if you pay for 30 days and only log in 1 day, you only get 1 day. It doesn’t seem fair to me. This might just be me, but after about that 2 months of using mend, I was really done with it. Mend became a constant reminder that I was broken up. Initially it helped me to move on, but then when I really needed to let go, it held me back. I paid for 3 months though, so I felt bad wasting the money if I didn’t use it. Overall, I’m glad I got this app. It helped me to move on when I felt very stuck. It needs some huge improvements before it is worth the $$$ though.

too expensive to be worth trying

rissraley

i’ve tried everything to deal with burnout, it’s completely unreasonable to expect someone to drop 75 USD on classes that might not even work.
