From an LMHC, pleasantly surprised ? – Mend: Go within Review

I never write reviews but this one deserves a nod. I have downloaded plenty of self help apps over the years and have fallen off after a couple days or have found them to be clunky to use. Mend is truly helpful. I downloaded it because I was going through a heartbreak that I really couldn’t let go of, and 3 months later, I can truly say that it’s getting better and Mend has been a part of that. Also noteworthy, I’m a licensed mental health counselor so I have pretty high standards (and also skepticism and lack of patience) with this stuff. Why it works— the practices are short daily audio clips with short journal prompts that you can just type into your phone (or I got into the habit of voice-to-text it). You can log your mood for the day (with cute icons), self-care activities, and read articles. So it’s all intended to be a short and sweet daily practice. Less than 5 min, really. And knowing what I know about psychology, that’s why I think/know/have found it works. Also, the app is just really user friendly and pleasant visually. I spent the money for 2 of the programs and I plan to continue to explore what else they have available, even though I’m at a place where I don’t really feel I “need” it anymore. Really nice work to the creators of Mend. Bravo in your intention and execution. ?
