What did I pay for?

Katainthedark

I love Marvin 3, I started using it after support for Gerty became nonexistent but the “tips” make no sense. I paid $4.99 to remove the banner yet if I want all theme colors I need to leave a fabulous tip of ANOTHER $4.99. I can’t seem to figure out what I paid for, surely banner removal can’t be that much on its own? Why not have the option to pay once to buy all features? Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem supporting Marvin 3 since I paid to remove the banner but I think it’s a bit ridiculous to pay $10 to access all these things. The Dark theme is adequate for now but I do wish I could access others.

Favorite ebook reader

wrtcedar

It’s fast, stable, and highly customizable. Once set up it gets out of the way and just lets me read. That’s so refreshing compared to some of the more established alternatives.

almost perfect

fanvicious

as other commenters have said, would be simply magical if it synced across devices. otherwise my fave reading app, esp. since my eyesight is meh and i can customize fonts and line-spacing until i can read without issue

Finally an iPhone X interface for a reader!

UKDNA

This may be the perfect cloud reader. Comics, ePub, etc. + clean interface that’s iPhone X optimized (I hate the legacy rectangle displays - they seem SO outdated now - like trying to use an iPhone 4 when the 6 came out). Also, there is a cloud picker option, so you’re not limited to iCloud or Dropbox as the description suggests.

I’ve tried them all

Stee-rider

I’ve tried a *ton* of different e-reader apps, from the obvious to the obscure, and nothing else comes close to the flexibility, attention to detail, and straight up usability of Marvin. Just get it. Learn it. You’ll never look back.

Almost perfect

JavaAddict

This has so many nice touches and thoughtful features, such as dragging a finger vertically to adjust brightness. I love the ability to fine-tune line height, margin, even load your own font. If I had only one device, this app would be perfect. But I read on both my iPad and iPhone, depending on the situation. There is no automatic sync. This is ubiquitous now, so there's no real excuse for something so commonplace to be absent. You have to manually sync—separately—bookmarks, annotations, and last place read, one book at a time. If they would add this feature, it would be a five-star app.

Best ereader

Nucvarian

Marvin by itself has already shown to be the best ereader on iOS. Granted, my library is almost solely ePub, so I can't speak to other formats. But what really puts this over the top for me is that I can download books directly from my Calibre library on my Mac. That, to me, is worth five stars. And the Goodreads connectivity is just icing on the cake.

Dropbox Integration and Multi-Device Sync

draketex

Works great across my devices and pulls files from Dropbox.

Needs PDF Support

Victor3139

I've downloaded many apps to read my books and this one does do a great job. However, most ebooks nowadays are either ePub or PDF. I have to use another app for my PDF which is every disappointing. This has the potential to be the best app on my phone if it he that feature.

Awesome but.....

Mia Gustavo

Jeez $4.99 to get fullscreen view?! To remove the banner?! I'm well aware that the developer put his time and money into developing this app but gosh. Android offers a variety if ereaders such as moon+, fbreader etc and the developers don't pull these ridiculous stunts. In all honesty i much rather to use the classic version, this version feels too artificial and bloated with useless features. The classic version is a lot more elegant and thats where Marvin3 falls short.
