Not a good replacement for Find ship

TowboatTimmy

Don’t expect this to replace the Find Ship app. Works ok at first, then tries to charge you $.99 to track a single vessel for 24hrs. If you search a certain vessel multiple times, it won’t show you the updated position until you pay to use their satellite to track it. One of the vessels I like to track has not been updated in 4 days. Don’t waste your money.

Longtime user, now recently dissatisfied

Have used this app for a few years now and have been been very satisfied. I normally follow a few vessels and this app has worked well. The new update now charges $ for the most recent location for 24hrs. Reading recent reviews, the developer says its for cost efficiency. For who? Certainly not me....I would rather pay for an upgraded app rather than keep paying every 24 hrs.

They Took Away Yacht Identification!

Chippy Spartan

I purchased this app several years ago to identify Great Lakes shipping. It was always useful and fun to look at the yachts along with their pictures and traffic patterns. In 2019 you can NO longer do that! Now, if you want to know the name of a yacht, you have to pay $1 for only 24 hours. And you ONLY get to see that one boat! I’m angry because I used to have that functionality. If you are into spotting yachts, take your money elsewhere!!

About 13 days behind

My husband and crew left St. Maarten 13 days ago and are about 20 non miles from the Azores. I just got an alert from Marine Traffic that says they are in Anguilla.

Must have this app. I sit on my deck & can name every ship I see with all the pertinent info. Can’t wait to retire & just watch the ships go by. Thx MarineTraffic for giving me a new hobby for life.

Information is only accurate half the time

I have had this app for almost a year now. My husband works on offshore tug boats and got to to be able to track where he is. It doesn’t track the boat past a certain point once he’s far from land and often it doesn’t even correctly say when he has artifices at his port. I have a basic account but I did still pay for the app and it should at least be able to properly give his position. That’s the whole idea of the app! A very good example is I know for a fact he had been docked at his destination port for over 24 hours now and this app still has him underway using engine near the Bahamas. It does say they have received more information in the last 24 hours and for .99 I can get it. Are you serious?!?!? Much of the time my saved fleet just disappears as well.

What a shame...

This app used to be a great tool for high seas mariners and pleasure boat users alike. Now they are withholding vessel info randomly and requiring payment for limited access to the vessel details. I am happy to pay well for a app and have full functionality. Please make Marine Traffic great again.
