I just opened up my Marcus accounts & downloaded the app. I like how quick & easy everything was to set up & transfer. The design/ layout is super simple. I like that because I don’t need many functions. I just want the money to sit in there. My only issue is that you can’t name the accounts. I have them separated for different things and this would have been a big plus. Hopefully, that’s the only issue but we’ll see how this goes. Update**** You can name your accounts now! I’m very pleased because this has been my only issue. It’s a wonderful app and I’ve never had a problem with it. Very simple and easy to use. The recurring transfers allow me to save without thinking. And each account can be set up individually which is a plus because I have multiple accounts for different things and prioritize them differently. It also has a pretty comparable interest rate for a HYSA.

Hi, I’m a long time user (~2 years) and fan of this app. It is phenomenal but I would highly highly recommended working on adding more banks to the app’s inventory and continued updates. For example, I have an Apple Goldman Sachs issued credit card yet am unable to sync it to the app because it “isn’t available right now”. Which is really frustrating especially since both the apple credit card and the Marcus app are both operated by Goldman Sachs. This has been the case for the past 2 years and nothing has been done about it. I would strongly encourage correcting these issues and also to look at other personal finance applications, as many features are lagging behind. Thank you in advance. Overall 7.3/10 app.

Locked account with no help

Do not bank through here, I got this bank set up an account and placed a good amount of money in it then two days later it locked me out of it. I tried calling customer representatives and they placed me on hold for about 20 to 40 minutes each time I’ve called with the end result of being told that they would call me back within a couple of minutes. Both times I received no calls. It’s a very sketchy bank and I have still yet to receive my money back, starting to feel like this bank needs to be invested for fraud.

I can’t remember the last time I opened the app and didn’t get a warning screen pop-up that the app is encountering technical issues. It’s tolerable given the rates they pay are top of market, but you should completely write off the app providing any value. Similarly, and infuriatingly, Marcus will not link successfully with any other apps you might use like Wealthfront, Personal Capital, Monarch, etc. the data will be pulled but will break every time if you are linking via Plaid. It is because Marcus does not support open banking, which is really surprising and kind of a legacy approach. Surprising for an institution like Goldman. Will definitely leave the second someone offers a better rate so all of my other apps can start working again.


Email Code/Verification Not Working

Have tried several times to check rates/offers and the app/website I am directed to states a code has been emailed to me and I need this to continue. No email has been sent. Verified not in spam, trash, blocked senders. Effectively unable to use.
