Yes the new version is out. MacID 2. I really like the touchpad login. The only thing is I keep getting pop up messages when I walk away and don’t know how to turn them off.

Honestly MacID never really worked reliably for me, the idea was awesome however and it's no wonder Apple stole it! Which leads me promptly to my next point - this functionality is now baked into macOS so why do I need an additional app anymore?

This App is simple and easy to use. Want to log into your Mac? Get your iPhone and touch Touch ID. Or set it up to lock/unlock it when your iPhone is close/away from your Mac. MAC ID is fantastic!

MacID does everything it advertises, and very well. Easy to setup, very flexible, and will become one of the most frequently used features of your iPhone (and Apple Watch).
