Nice simple flashcard type app

R. Gibson

I play this with both my 5 year old and my 2 year old. It's really easy to use, and much more convenient than carrying flash cards. The kids love it because they get to play with Daddy's phone, which makes learning fun! I'd really like it if they could add some "game" type features though, since the kids do tire of the routine flipping of cards pretty quickly.

Useful, BUT...

I do the 25 word shuffle with my Kindergarten son 3 or so times a week. Some of the words are way too advanced for him, so I would like to see them group the words by grade level as an option. Most schools have a set standard of which words they should know by sight by grade level, and as they advance, so do the number of sight words expected to be recognized. So if we could choose which level to start with, and then advance when ready, that would be SO helpful instead of being so random!

Disappointed

Just purchased the app and I'm so disappointed, the flash cards are showing but it has no sounds! I Checked the sounds if it is off but it is on. I even put the volume to maximum level but it is still the same. Fix this problem, it not, you give my money back!

Love this app!

I got this app when my daughter was finishing kindergarten. She's now in 2nd grade and still has fun with this app. It's bright and colorful, and the lady is cute (although we agree that her voice does not match her face. She sounds too grown up.) Once my daughter was able to get most of the words we turned it into a speed game. She tries to read as many words as possible in a certain amount of time. Now I just wish there was another level with more difficult sight words. Also, a spelling app like this would be great too! Bottom line... totally worth 99 cents!

By far my favorite app for teaching and practicing sight words. I use it daily in my special education classroom.

Amazing ap for autistic and normal kids

Ann2Z

I found this ap when researching using iPads to increase sight word vocabulary in high functioning autistic kindergarteners and use it for my own child who fits that description. He loves using the iPad with this easy to use motivating ap that let's me flag words and go back or shuffle words. The optional sound is great too, clearly spoken. I shared it with my son's ABA therapist and speech therapist and they just love it. Invaluable yet only 99 cents!

gets the job done

A sight words app should be a very simple thing to make. This app gets it right at a price that is very fair.

No reinforcement

Sped educator

These are just flash cards. No comprehension. No cause and effect for reinforcement. Does not motivate a child to want to do more than a regular deck of flash cards. We need one that requires a student to match a word to a picture, to ensure comprehension. I'd like my dollar back.
