i dont think this app wasn even worth my 99 cents to be honest with you.. & why would you call it sight words if there isnt any pictures..& just to let you all know my 2 and a half year old son hated it!!!

Very easy and friendly for a 5 year old

DoOhver

My 5 year old found this app very easy to use and it works well on my iTouch. I would recommend it for anyone with kids preschool to grade three. It is a useful technique to learn the "service words" (pronounds, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs) that cannot be learned through the use of pictures.

definition of sight words

Kaylani24, they're called "sight words" because they're words that the reader knows automatically. It has nothing to do with pictures and I'm not surprised that your son doesn't like the program because he's too young.

Great APP!!!

Queen Diva Ava

This app loaded fine on my iTouch. My girlz love it. 6 & 4 yrs of age.

Capitals?

Bortoni

This app rocks! One suggestion would be to sometimes add capital letters. Sometimes, while reading, capitals can throw off my daughter.

Needs a search function

troublechicken

I wish it had a search box so I can find my son's weekly sight words for school and then flag them.

Know what you

@ Kaylani24, A sight word is any word that is known by a reader automatically. It doesn't mean there are pictures! Pics for older kids in my opinion are too distracting, their focus should be on the word not the pic associated with, thats more for the younger kids just starting. It's a good app, worth $0.99

Perfect for my first grader...

Mikemerit

She likes it AND she learns. Better than real flash cards for sure.

Amazing

We were having issues with our son learning to read, he made it to the 2nd grade but was still having many issues in getting his basic words down. After thousands of dollars in tutoring with no luck I found this app and put on his itouch and on my iphone and we play it outload all the time. He went from failing spelling tests to getting 100%'s within a few weeks. They were going to hold him back in second grade but now are going to allow him to move on as he can now read. This app has been amazing. He finds it fun so is willing to play with it and fun makes learning fun and possible! Wouldn't have ever thought that this would have been possible! Great App!!! Wish i would have found it earlier.

Perfect for my kindergarten son and even a review for my second grader. As someone who researches child development and education a perfect take along activity to promote review, self paced learning and literacy even for those who are not that into learning!
