My son just turned 6 and is in kindergarten. He's an eager learner, but gets bored easily. As a teacher and a mom, i highly recommend this app. It's fun, keeps the attention of hard to focus kids, provides instant verbal feedback, and my son ASKS to play it over and over. We flag the words we aren't sure about and come back to them again later. Fabulous!!

purchased this for my son because it said Itouch compatible. It won't even load on an iTouch.

This is a fun learning app that so far works great on the iPod Touch. My major complaint is it needs the ability to let you see all 300 words alphabetically so one can compile your own lists and save them. We are just starting and the random selection of words isn’t always relevant.

Less than 1 min after using this app, my kids didn't want anything to do with it. =[

Fantastic reading tool for early elementary students. I have my five year-old practice a few times a week and she can so easily use the app without any assistance; if she struggles with a word she knows to listen to the word and then flag it to practice after her rounds of words. She wants to take it to show-and-tell! Ideal app for home and classroom use.

Great app. The 300+ words should be easily learnable by the end of First Grade, and this app ensures my children can practice with me any time we have some free time. It needs the ability to save custom word lists to support school assignments. To the low raters: 1. Read the description and ratings before you buy. Don't rate low because you bought something you should have known didn't do what you're requesting. 2. Research the Dolch Word List so you understand what these words are for. 3. Unless your child is a prodigy in someone's opinion other than yours, don't complain if they don't learn from a list designed for children 5 years older.

The app does not offer a fun way to learn these words. It's like flashcards. You're better off making the flashcards for your kid and reading it aloud because that's all this app does. My child did not find this interesting or fun at all and he loves educational apps. My suggestion to the makers is to make this app less like flashcards and more interesting and fun to learn. That's what educational apps are supposed to be afterall. This app does not make learning fun or interesting at all.

We love this app! Love that you can flag words and it pronounces the word clearly. Also, it does load on the I-Touch if you have updated OS.

Unlike the other reviewer, my son and I like the flash card aspect. However, my son knows nearly every word and he just finished kindergarten. Maybe an update to load more words? Select other grades? I'll save this for my younger son.

Overall a good app. Please fix the pronunciation of "an" as the voice says "un".
