Pretty sweet but hate the UI

Ondrj

And for a DAW, the UI makes or breaks it. The synths sound great, and the quality beats any other on iOS. I’ve bought a few of the addons - likely to buy more. But other than throwing down some simple ideas, I don’t gravitate to this one. It could just be I'm not used to it yet? My suggestion is to wait for a decent sale, then spend the extra on a few of the in-app synths.

Tons of sounds!

Great daw environment. Can’t beat it for the price.... I wish they would of put this type of sequencer environment in the korg kronos.... if you can fix the wave table synth waves don’t show every since I switch to the iPhone 11

Updated after Korg Bluetooth Products Fix

I LOVE Gadget. It's worth every penny for every gadget (but wait for a sale, which they have often). This is an update to reflect that Korg has issued a firmware update to fix their NanoKEY Studio and other Bluetooth devices with iOS 13. I had removed three stars due to this as the integration with their hardware was a key feature that was lost with iOS 13. Thank you for fixing it Korg! Took ya long enough, but I’ll forgive that. Gadget is one of the most impressive apps on iOS. One star off for not allowing audio input from other apps such as AUM and Audiobus. I do not know what on earth Korg is thinking adding an audio Gadget that can only take direct hardware input. But other than that I love Gadget.

Needs an update.

Error 3000

The sound pops and crackles when I set the audio latency to 128 with just one module loaded. This wasn’t the case with Gadget on IOS 12. I’m also on an IPhone XS Max.

NO TRACK RENAMING AND SPYING ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

KORG what’s your problem? In-App analytics against the users knowing of it. Not to mention embezzlement from users: Their Tracks and Presets siphoned ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Update December 16, 2019: There is still no fix for Track renaming. Also Gadget 2 App introduced its own analytics which bypasses Apple’s built-In iOS analytics (SPYING).

Great for producing music!

I love how works the KORG Gadget 2! It’s easy and intuitive... i would suggest that Korg should create more drum machine modules and more drum libraries.

At this point...

I go back and forth with this app for a variety of reasons. Definitely a love hate relationship. I think the bottom line is that music creation on iOS is still young and developing and Korg has been there pretty much from the start... but things are changing fast and there are many new developers on the scene creating some very cool apps. I just need to be more patient and walk away when I get frustrated with the limitations of most iOS music apps. So with that said, this really is an amazing app that can be a lot of fun. It can get a bit expensive and be a $ gouge fest at times, but that’s just korg being korg. I have many korg products that I’ve enjoyed over the years and they all have their limitations... It’s just part of the game... and with software it’s no different I guess... they gotta be done at some point and move on... no matter how loud we scream... I look forward to the future of iOS music software... but in the meantime, I will try to be more patient and enjoy what’s currently on the menu. peace

Needs some basic functions added

Archemi

Cool app and fun to use, but it could really benefit from the following: 1) Allowing a playback cursor. It’s really annoying that when you’re trying to hear just a few bars of a gadget in relation to the whole scene that you have to play the scene from the beginning. You can move the start/end cursors at the top, but those only apply to the gadget you’ve opened, meaning it will play just the selected bars of the gadget while the rest of the scene plays in entirety. As far as I can tell there’s no option otherwise. This is critical if you’re trying to layer gadgets and work out harmonies. 2) Please allow a traditional DAW timeline view where the gadgets are horizontal and stacked! Having the option to view this way would greatly open up the possibilities of using this as a go-to DAW. I get that it wasn’t designed that way with the individual edit options for each scene, but I think it would help workflow for more linear minded people like myself. 3) Please move the ‘Velocity’ banner to a different place instead of at the bottom of the piano roll. I constantly hit it by accident when trying to edit the roll, and it opens up that huge window you have to swipe out of.
