Great app, but needs more flexibility

theleadbee

Creating charts and using them is easy and user friendly. It would be nice if Japanese knitting symbols were available, as well as the ability to add your own symbols.

Not working

I have tried for 2 days to figure this app out with no success!

Hard to figure out

Ebar2

It’s very hard to figure out. I bought the full version. Looked the through the example and that still doesn’t help. Lots of things they show in the example do not show up on my projects. There should be step by step directions.

How do I change the order of charts?

a;ksdjflajf

Love this app!!!! I have been able to change the order of charts in a particular project in the past, but after the update, I can’t... Any thoughts? Ok, I closed and reopened it and the link in the info button is back now. Weird...

This app is TOO POWERFUL and I love it!!

Annika99999

This app is incredible— importing color charts from photos, background images, and template library are all intuitive and easy to use, and translates well when putting it into practice. I downloaded 3 different apps and tried them out and this is definitely the best if you’re looking for design more than a row counter. I can now make a knitting pattern for a blanket with my face on it with ease. 10/10 mankind was not meant to have this power

Update review

MissEdwina

I would like to update my review about the cost of the app being 4.99 and then additional cost of 2.99 for the full version. The developer contacted me and was very very helpful and to the steps to get the issue with the app fixed. Thank you very much ?

Possibly useful

Lots of nice features but my primary goal is to have a tool to write my own charts. Symbols available are very limited. I cannot find any cable symbols. So either there aren’t any or I haven’t figured out where or how to make them.

Basic interface problem; plus, free version does NOT convert images!

AstroPaul

I've been trying to find an app that converts an image into a knitting chart. Alas, discovered two major problems with this app. 1. At first, it looks as if the app cannot do this. When one starts a project, the choices are Draw Chart, Row Counter, PDF File, and Ravelry File. No choice for an Image Conversion appears! That's confusing. We're not trying to draw a chart, but convert an image into a chart. That choice should be one of the original ones! So, given that no directions and no manual are provided, I tried to save an image as a PDF. But the app doesn't read PDFs stored in iBooks! It also won't read a jpg file. It also lists all sorts of files that cannot be converted. Pick one and it just sits there! OK, so eventually, after much frustration, I tried Draw Chart. One is presented with a host of indecipherable icons — there should be pop-up text tips for each or a text caption below each to explain what they do. (Users could have an option to turn that off once they know the program.). Nothing seemed to work! Eventually, I tapped on the ellipsis, an odd choice of an icon, where I found Import Image as a Color Chart. All of this is far too convoluted. As noted, Convert Image to Chart should be a choice on the first Project screen. 2. Then, I encountered the second big problem. First, though, there was no guidance as to how many Columns and Rows to use. I kept trying different amounts, but the resulting color grid looked nothing like the original image. Finally, in desperation, I tried 80x80. That took forever to convert, but the resulting grid looked like the original image. However, when I then tried to convert that to a chart, I received a pop-up message telling me that conversion to a chart was *only* available in the Pro version and that I would have to pay and upgrade! That's an incredibly frustrating result. The app should tell the user that way before then; in fact, the Pro upgrade alert should pop up right when Import Image is chosen. As currently set up, this is truly off-putting; an unfriendly user design. I wasted a lot of time — first because the interface is convoluted (Convert Image should be a choice at the outset); next, because the Convert Image choice is hidden; third, because it's unclear how fine a grid is needed. and last, because the upgrade alert doesn't appear until AFTER the user has tried lots of things and spent lots of time trying to figure out the app works! —-> I still do not know how well this app converts images to a chart. <—— Finally, the blurb here in the App Store should explicitly describe which features are in the free app and which require an upgrade. That would save prospective buyers a lot of time. Now, all that's left for me is disappointment. I would urge the developer to make the design changes mentioned, and to include the conversion ability in the free app to let users see how well that works!

Love it, but...

I LOVE the idea of this app. And for the most part, I love what it does! Problem is that the app keeps crashing and it’s disappointing.

Increase rows and columns

Tblimline

Are you about to increase the chart drawing row and column numbers higher then 200? If you could do that I would definitely be willing to purchase this app.
