Great workouts

Amyjjjjj

I used the free version for a long time before buying. The free version provides great workouts and never repeat so it’s not boring. The paid version has myriad options using the “generator” option. I always enjoy my workouts with Jillian and the app is user friendly. I highly recommend

Amazing App

Cgeds

I’ve used a few other fitness apps, this one is flexible enough to make me look forward to workouts (e.g.: I can switch up a particular move with something that works a similar muscle group but that I enjoy more) without compromising my workout quality. It’s easy to use, love the tutorials and the audio, in case I can’t look at my phone to transition to the next move. Even the short workouts are enough to get your heart rate up and build muscle. I recommend this app to friends and coworkers all the time. Keep it up!

More like 4.5...

Happy that some things have been fixed this go round, but what would really be useful is to be able to eliminate some of the menu items based on ingredients. I can’t eat shrimp or dairy (intolerance) and frankly I just don’t like avocados. Seems like it would be a pretty easy query into a database. I’d like to be able to tweak the Jillian to Music volume quickly because I don’t want to pause the workout for too long. Would like to swap out a Jillian cardio day for other random cardio - biking, rowing, running, etc. and have it all track. I get what other people are saying about the cueing, but I’m glad it’s not there. I’ve done the DVD’s for years so it would just be tiring after awhile. Pretty cool now but I only expect it to get better.

Great variety of workouts but app has too many bugs

VIDEOS 1. There’s a wide range of pre-set workouts varying from “easy”, “medium” and “hard” as well as a “generator” that will create a workout based on your choice of minutes (10, 20, 30, 45); difficulty; and target area (abs; buns & thighs; arms, chest, and back; cardio; total body). This part of the app gets 5 stars from me. 2. You can preview each move (25 sec intervals) to practice it before beginning a workout. This is helpful 3. Some of the moves are blank videos. The 25 sec interval will pass during the workout but the screen will be blank as if it is on pause 4. You can’t delete “progress” to track *actual activity*. I started a couple workouts to preview them and they showed up on my daily calendar as workouts I had done that day + calories burned. CUSTOMER SERVICE There is almost no help available if you experience a problem with the app. For example, the app would not let me login with my password and after a few attempts, I was locked out of my account. The reset link sent me to a page where I was supposed to be able to reset my password but since I was locked out, I got an error message denying me access to the page (catch 22??) I had to send an email and wait 48+ hours for a response. In the meantime, I could not use the app, which I was relying on for working out at home. This is a huge problem. Who wants to pay for an app that they might get locked out of for 2+ days? RECIPES 1. No search function For example, if you want to make something with chicken, you have to scroll through the whole alphabetical list of recipe names. Same thing if you saw a recipe you liked and want to find it again ... you can’t just search for “smoothie” 2. Cannot print recipes from within the app I took screenshots and printed those 3. You can’t make your own notes on the recipes in the app The app is like the NYC subway system - awesome when it’s functioning properly but miserable when there’s delays, unanticipated route changes, and no way to find out what’s going on UPDATE (reply to developer) Thank you for attempting to address some of my concerns. a. According to JillianMichaels.com ANY emails to customer support will be answered in 48-72 hours. Hence, the fact that it took 48+ hours to address the password lockout issue should not be attributed to the recent backend update b. I found the search bar in “recipes” but do not see a readily available print function. I also see how substitutions can be made (switching one day’s suggested meal for another) but my comment above was re: the inability to type notes directly on recipes. For instance, if a certain brand of an item works best or I substitute greek non-fat yogurt for standard yogurt I would want to make note of that directly on the recipe, next to the list of ingredients. c. I am aware of how to change time between exercises - not sure why you mention that since it’s not something I commented on in my review d. I read the article on JillianMichaels.com re: how to resolve connectivity issues. Restarting and/or deleting the app and reinstalling are not optimal workarounds. Besides, I have a fairly fast 5Ghz WiFi connection at home; I don’t think I should be experiencing any difficulty downloading the videos. Something I didn’t say in my review but read in another user’s comments is, THE APP RESTARTS EVERY TIME YOU SWITCH WINDOWS. This is terribly annoying and inconvenient. For instance, let’s say I’m shopping for items from a particular recipe. I cannot switch back and forth between the app and my web browser to consult the list of items. Every time I go back to the app, it restarts, forcing me to reselect the recipes tab, search for the recipe, and reopen it.

Overall love, not a fan of latest update

Leah8884

Love everything about this app i have used since it was released last year with one exception. In the latest release the cardio day in Slim 60 changed to a very repetitive series of the same 5 moves repeated 8 times. Kinda boring and also I REALLY. HATE. HIGH. KNEES. and they are featured prominently. Let’s go back to the more dynamic and interesting varied cardio days please!

Love this APP!!

I’ve been using this since the first of the year and I’m down 13 pounds. Great workout! Love Jillian! She is so motivating and it’s like having her in your pocket.

Great fit

Best designed workout app!

Koquelicot

I’m just trying this out in comparison to others like sweat by Kayla and this app is so much better than the others! Apple TV mirroring, full screen videos, music volume choice not just on/off, audio overlay to remind you of posture, customization on difficulty, time, and body area. And the exercises are interesting and effective - true to Jillian. Easy to pause and skip ahead. Scrubber at the top at all times to let you see where you are in the workout. I’m really impressed. Things that could be improved: 1. The videos freeze up sometimes. The audio keeps playing but the video gets stuck. You have to tap around to skip the exercise and come back to fix it. 2. There is a fuzzy overlay when transitioning between videos but it’s annoying because you want to see the picture of the next video to start getting in position. They should get rid of that or make it just behind the loading circle so you can see the body position coming up. 3. Each exercise lasts only 30 seconds or less. By the time you get into position you only have time to repeat a few times before the video is over. They really should be increased by 10-15 seconds.

My own personal trainer

FitFab44

I love this app! I belong to a Pilates gym, so I don’t get much cardio there. This is the perfect complement, and I feel like I have my own personal trainer who kicks my butt! Plus the exercises are under 30 minutes, so I can easily fit them in- before work, after work, or before a night out on the weekend! When I’m traveling, I can easily do these at the hotel gym or even in my room! Jillian knows what she’s doing with the HIIT workouts. Keep it up Jillian team! You rock!
