I loved the original back in the day. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I rolled my eyes at all the reviews saying it was rigged to get you to spend money. Then I got past the first bunch of introductory levels and I have to say I agree with everyone saying it is rigged to make it nearly impossible to win without making a purchase. I know a lot of games are like that but the lack of subtlety in this one is off putting. There are so many great match 3 games out there, it’s not worth it. Definitely skip this one. Sadly, I can not in good conscious recommend this to anyone!

I would have given five stars, but...

Updated 6/2018 — I had to change tablets due to problems with the old one. My game progress copied over to the new but not my premium purchases. Nor did my relics “purchased” with points. Kinda bummed about that. Previous review - I have several Jewel Quest games on my computer and thought I would be purchasing something very similar for my iPad. Unfortunately, not absolutely true. Four lives then wait a long while to play again. That in itself is not TOO bad because I can move on to a different game, read a book, whatever. But if you want to be able to get the relics to help, you must have THOUSANDS of coins. If you use any of the level helps, you won’t have thousands of coins. I used the level help twice to keep the monkeys in the cages and strangely enough I didn’t have as many monkeys spread out all over. No help “bought,” lots and lots of monkeys, making three across and pulling my caged monkeys out. The levels that are timed are sometimes barely enough time, working really fast. Levels with restricted moves barely have enough. I want a challenge but if it is so challenging you must play a level for a week, it is not fun. Oh, wait, you can have a little more time or moves if you buy it with real money, not game chains. Let’s see... .99 for a few more minutes or moves, even if only half of the levels, not at my house! Or I can buy coins for a bunch of money. I have yet to figure out the star system, and what you must have to get three stars. I bought this game and will keep playing it but I am somewhat disappointed. BTW, I agree that it would be nice to have an option to move on if you just cannot get a level.

Hello?

Are the developers still there? Purchased lives but wasn’t given any. Been playing this game for 10 years...just as addicting as ever, but let down it would just take my money and run. I don’t want to delete this game, but waiting 30 minutes for only one life at a time is truly frustrating when free time doesn’t work like that, so I made a small purchase to not wait 30min yet here I am 30 minutes later, and only one life. I don’t care if it was $100, &50, $1... I want my money back.

Rip-off

Pfefferneuse

Every time I’ve bought additional time to complete a level, the game takes the money and then ends the level without giving me the 45 seconds I paid for.

Latest update is BUGGY!

I can get past the rigged aspect and the coin jacking, but when it actually opens the sound effects (not music) never shuts off. Regardless of the option in settings, sounds persist. Makes it difficult to play the game in places I want to remain quiet.

Only can play 3 levels and it freezes.

Game won’t move past a level 11 instruction screen

I lost three lives attempting to complete this level. The screen freezes and you lose bonus purchases and a life when you try to reset it. Please fix this bug!
