For a few years I have been considering purchasing a Roomba. I finally asked for it as a Christmas gift from my family. It has been the BEST gift I’ve received in a very long time!! I love how my floors look - carpets and wood. I was so tired of rolling a vacuum from room to room…..no need of that anymore!! Shortly after I received the Roomba I got sick……my family told me to “stay put” I quipped, “Ok…. But the vacuuming is going to get done.” And it did while I slept in my chair.

But as soon as my best friend pointed out routine cleaning of parts makes a huge difference, I am happily reaping the benefits.

With having a dog it’s easy to get behind on vacuuming and then having to do it at inconvenient times. With our iRobot I set a schedule to clean while I’m at work and a lot of times it completes the entire job. It’s not perfect, sometimes it don’t make it back to the charger so it powers down underneath a bed or dresser to make it extra fun to find. Other times it will get stuck and give an error that makes it shut down until cleared. Recognizing where it gets stuck I have helped it avoid some obstacles but it’s always finding others. The black squares on my dining room rug make it think it’s on a cliff, short of getting a new rug I’m not sure how to fix that. Even with its quirks and half the time not making it back to the charger it is still well worth the investment. I would definitely miss it if I didn’t have it anymore. I even put it in my camper when we get back from trips to let it clean, I know I’m lazy!
