Paying annual fee for an app that I already paid double digits for to buy???

So I’ve seen some responses where informant responded to review were saying “hey you can still use the older informant out it just won’t be getting updates.” The problem is when I go into settings to change anything on my existing app I get stuck on a regenerating screen for downloading informant five. they say that this is the bug but it’s not a bug that they have fixed so beware if you download the app to use it the way it used to work and you click on settings to change anything for yourself even after you’ve purchased this. you will be redirected to an ad for informant five over and over again it will not let you out. I did try five a few months ago and it is a horribly ugly user interface with minimal customization and not at all what I’m used to using on this app so I will not be responding in a positive manner to your extortion I would love for you to refund the money that I spent purchasing informant but I feel that you’re not gonna do that. Congratulations on alienating a customer that love the app and probably would have paid for future upgrades just so that you can make your job easier and make more money.

Informant 5 is intrusive with This software, Fanatic software the developer, persist than you have to buy informant 5 and I don’t want. Bad developer and software is garbage. Do not buy!

This was always my most useful app. I loved it for years. Now, I’m about to abandon it. It’s useless, because on my new iPad Pro, any move in then app kicks me to some ridiculous webpage that tells me all that I already know about Informant. There’s no escape: it’s impossible to get to settings (to connect to my Google calendars) or anything else of use. Infuriating! How did you ruin such a great app?

Google sync broken, won't be fixed. Useless without it. Invaluable Calendar Merge and Sync, not much else to say, worth every penny and more, fantastic support and updates, I would be failing to keep up with modern busy life without it!
Nearly perfect but badgers users

Highly customizable but still buggy. For example the widget is frozen on last Wednesday and is unresponsive. Even after re activating the widget and a FC. Now that this app has become a very expensive money grab it's one to avoid. Both Fantastical and Calendars 5 are just as useful, and priced for ordinary folks.

You should've grandfathered in your existing customers you've lost me permanently. I'm not gonna pay $25 a year for an app that basically does the same thing that I paid $15 for one time. You're out of your mind.

Forced to Upgrade to 5 without trying out the features

I had been evaluating this app and was starting to warm to it. I put it away in favor of using Fantastical. Well I wanted to re-evaluate informant as it has it's own address book manager integrated (syncing with address book and iCal). I upgraded my copy to pro right away. Pulling it up again after 8 months of not using it, and using a new device with a new iOS 10, I went to use the settings and a upgrade to 5 add came up as a pop up. I would close it and it would keep on popping up. It would not let me use the settings. The upgrade appears to be mandatory. So I downloaded version 5. The settings are locked until I purchase a copy. Another copy. Upon looking at what I could look at with no settings, the new app looks pretty but I can't really try it without buying. So I guess I will just stick to Fantastical. It has great integration with my apple address book and creates maps and travel time info and pairs with my desktop. Sorry informant...I tried to see what your all about but you would not let me.

Just like several other reviewers have said: Paid $9.99 for the unlocked, fully functional version of this app. Several hours or days of moving ALL my relevant data, years of maintaining it and the developers abandon the app (stability issues? BS), taking nearly ALL the code & replacing it with "Informant 5". A subscription service. Way to throw those of us who financially built your company under the bus!
