I just downloaded this today. And purchased it because I liked the symmetry tool. But I was playing around with the Blend tool in the watercolor brushes, and when I selected a brush, my whole artwork would disappear. Sometimes it would come back if I tapped on the screen. But it has also vanished altogether too. I have a brand new 1T iPad Pro 12.9. Also, the three dots (multi tasking) are in the way of the menu bar at the top of the app. Cant access the middle option.

My favorite drawing app ???? Feature Request can we get a choice between classic or a black app icon…… We need an update for the Apple multitask button at the top of the screen interfering with infinite painte custom Shortcuts button

Amazing and so many brushes!!

I have been using Infinite Painter for about a month now and it is absolutely AMAZING! I love all the brushes that it has and I was able to create realistic drawings. I’m only a beginner artist but I love this app. It is so easy to use and I like the color palette feature.

My go-to art app.

I don’t understand why this app is not more noticed on the market. Is apple messing with us. I prefer Infinite Painter over procreate, because the brush engine is more realistic and it has some great features like interactive layers where you can paint non destructively on the layer below. There are so many features I could point to which makes this a great app. It’s got such a rich feature set, but it has extremely simple interface. I teach digital art using this app because it’s also available for android users. I have confidence that any student will be able to learn it easily. I also use it for my professional artwork. I will contact the developer with some bugs I’ve noticed while using it for the past six months. Overall 5 stars!!!!!

Needs an iPadOS 15 Patch

Aeon II

Just want to start by saying I LOVE Infinite Painter. It has simple UI yet powerful tools, which is really my favorite part. But there needs to be some adjustments. In the newest iPadOS, there's the multitasking shortcut at the top which conflicts with certain buttons. (namely, the 'link' button when resizing)

Extremely Good

I've tested dozens of drawing apps, and this definitely makes it into my top 3. (Excluding Procreate) Below is a semi long detailed review. Technical Pros: *Full Apple Pencil tilt support You can really get huge range with tilt. Most of the native pencils and charcoal tools seem to accurately, and I mean very accurately, hit tilting. Something I haven't seen at all in other drawing apps. This makes it very intuitive to use the pencil tools. You can get a very good idea where the tilt will land on when putting strokes down, it becomes very fun to play with. *Outstanding Blending Features Blending also feels rather natural. Just some adjustments on brushes, and you can get some rather clean blending. And note, I mean BLENDING. Most drawing apps come with blending, but it's mostly just smudge tools programmed to move colors with slightly different behaviours. For Infinite Paint, it will actually mix colors, and actually behave based on the strokes you make. This also makes blending colors very natural and intuitive, which again, is really rare in the world of iOS apps. *Feature Rich I can't really put everything that the app has in features. I believe the best ones I can list on the top of my head are, intuitive perspective tools, a navigator that can display your entire canvas in greyscale (No need to play with layers to see the values in your pieces), import references that can be moved around and be toggled on and off, lots of options for layer blending, save different states of your canvas and being able to "rewind" to a previous state of that canvas. Perhaps the biggest for me, the ability to blend colors with layers underneath. Meaning I don't have to touch my foundational drawings to paint over them, while still pulling colors from it. I can't really describe it, but it's super super useful. Technical Cons *Brush Engine runs a tad slower than most Let me reitterate this, I don't mean that the brushes lag, they actually don't. This is usually only something you'll notice if your display runs at at 120Hz. Inking feels a bit sluggish, crosshatching feels also rather sluggish(without using any smoothing or lazy option). It's fun to ink, but if I really need to be serious with inking anything, I'd go somewhere else. The brush engine seems more geared towards larger brushes and blending, than it is inking. *Smoothing is a mixed bag Smoothing works ok, there's also a "lazy" drawing mode, which helps greatly for making more detailed work. It works very well and I see myself using it ALOT. I think the lazy option would be the only option to be using. The basic smoothing you can find in the brush's options tends to act very odd at times. If your brush has alot of texture, or it's behaviour uses some sort of jitter to imitate a type of pen, it tends to greatly lag while in use. The only times it seems to work appropriately, is when using basic brushes or using the native calligraphy brushes. On first impressions I just believed that some of the pens caused the app to lag a ton, but it seems that some of pens just tried replicating rough texture by having jitter applied to it, and the smoothing seemed to be trying to calculate all the jitter, instead of just focusing on a stroke. At least that's what I thought was the cause. Again I just turned off basic smoothing, and started using lazy option from then on. It worked very well after. *Some instability Issues This app will crash every now and then. The app does do a great job and preserving your work, which is helpful. The most common crashes I found myself in were from using guides on the canvas for a decent period of time. I had some projects just crash if any stroke was put onto the canvas after resizing and cropping it. This app is very amazing. It blends, it colors, it does perspective, and has amazing features, the UI feels very natural and intuitive. When I feel I want to paint a commission, I'll open this puppy up and start adding colors, the native brushes are amazing. I found myself using this very often when it comes to using it for studies, painting, or just plainly messing about. The perspective tools let me conceptualize certain compositions with ease. Everything about this app amazing, it's becoming my go to. The only gripes is that fine inking and detail in that area feels subpar, and it has some stability issues. It's still an amazing app.
