I am curious about a lot of nature, especially stuff that is small and that I find unusual. It's fun to find a new bug and use this app to promptly learn what it is and it's role in the forest. The app IDs the bug in my pictures most of the time but not every time. Still, it's enough for me especially since it's free!

I use this app all the time on nature walks with my son. I love how it will try to identify both plants and animals, indicate if a species has been found nearby, and I can get help from other observers.

Ever wanted to know what you are looking at out on a walk? Pull out your phone take a picture and within seconds iNaturalist will narrow down to a family group and suggest similar species seen nearby! Amazing!

As far as plant Id apps go, this one seems to be one of the most accurate out there. Every once and a while it will suggest something strange, but with the help of other iNaturalist users I often get a good answer for an ID in 24 hours. Easy to use and the mapping capability lets me see where the plant has been spotted through out an area!
