Great Review and study app

The app and content is easy to understand. It’s easy to navigate the app and find what your looking for. Even the free version gets you a very basic Japanese understanding. Incredible app.
Fantastic way to learn Japanese

My brother and I began studying Japanese using HJ when I was a sophomore in high school. We loved the way everything was explained and presented, and we loved how we also learned about Japanese culture through this app. When I went to university, I selected Japanese as one of my majors. Just from studying with the Human Japanese apps (beginner and intermediate), which cost a total of $20, I was able to test into 3rd year Japanese, saving literally thousands of dollars. Now, I use this app as a sort of “textbook” to give my mom Japanese lessons every week. I could not be more happy with Human Japanese.

This app plus its follow on intermediate Japanese are excellent. They provide a stepwise approach for the motivated learner which in turn can be applied in the Satori Reader application.

Great app with tons of supplemental information regarding the history of Japanese as well. It’s a very thorough app that provides a great accompaniment to something like Duolingo for those looking to dive deeper into Japanese.

Just like a lot of people, I’ve always thought that I just couldn’t learn a language because I didn’t have the “language gene” that everyone always talks about. I want to live in Japan one day and so I figured I’d just get this app and work my way through it. I didn’t expect much. I was honestly expecting to have wasted $10. But what I found is that all of the lessons are quite easy to understand, even the grammar lessons are easy to understand and I never learned grammar in school. One thing that I would certainly recommend is that you also get the Anki app on your phone (it literally means “memorization” in Japanese). It does cost $25 but you can use it for anything you need to memorize, you’ll get your money’s worth just while learning Japanese! There’s actually a Human Japanese deck of cards that you can find in the shared decks, with the help of that I’ve memorized about 100 words or so in an hour or two just before I wrote this! I’m only about halfway done with HJ and I’m already getting a pretty decent understanding of the language. Albeit not amazing, I’m sure that I’ll know the ins and outs by the time I finish HJ. I know that it’s scary to have to spend money on something but trust me, this app is completely worth it. Plus, it’s a one time payment so you can drop it and pick it back up anytime you want without fear of losing money. Oh! Another thing, the creator of the app dedicated several lessons to the culture of Japan and culture lessons are included throughout almost every lesson as well. This was a really long review and it was probably badly written but I just want more people to know about this app!!! There aren’t enough Japanese speakers in the world and the creator of the app also deserves more money for doing such an amazing job!!! So yeah, get this app!
