I would recommend this application to any and every person who is looking to get in to the study of the Japanese language. Not only does it cover grammar, but also vocabulary. The intermediate version goes in to kanji as well, if my memory serves correctly, thus giving you the three keys to learning the Japanese language. You will eventually need more sources to continue to learn, but this app is VERY extensive.

I am loving this app. I struggle with language. Even learning new things in my native language can sometimes be a struggle, but I am slowly progressing along. A couple of minor things are missing in my opinion. One example is 0 (zero) in the numbers chapter. But after writing to the author, he responded with the answer I needed to understand zero in Japanese. I would have originally rated this with 4 stars, but his service immediately brought it to 5.

Love this app, and intermediate soo much that I bought it for all of my phones(windows, android, apple). The audio is pronounced very well like authentic Japanese people, which I really appreciate. Unlike Rosetta Stone:(:(:(! You will fly though the beginner app, but not intermediate. Intermediate seems to cover a lot more.

What makes this the best learning tool is not the language instruction. There are many tools available to help teach you the Japanese language, but only Human Japanese adds the cultural background that helps you put the language in context. This is hands-down the best language learning app I own (and I own many), and asked from living in Japan is likely the best way for a gaijin such as myself to learn.

Clearest app I’ve tried for learning Japanese. I love the way the grammar is explained - it actually makes it make sense! I also enjoy the cultural notes and I can really feel the developer’s love of the language and the culture.
Still a fantastic app after all these years.

This was one of the first apps I ever bought back when I got my iPhone in high school. It explains Japanese beautifully and it still receives updates. I even noticed that now it has notes regarding changes to some text compared to the previous version. This is a fantastic app, and if you are looking into learning Japanese, it’s a great companion.
Best app I’ve found

I work for a Japanese company and travel to Japan frequently. I’ve always found it difficult to really master Japanese as I lose so much between trips and as a global company English is the common language so we don’t use Japanese as much as you might expect. The big benefit to me with this app is learning to read and write plus understanding the nuances of the different syllabaries. It let’s me understand conversations and menus etc. much better and helps me form sentences when I need to speak strictly in Japanese. Thanks for a great, well designed app.

I love this app! It's made the infamously daunting task of learning Japanese easy, interesting, fun and entertaining! There's a great balance of history, useful phrases, cultural explanations and of course hiragana and katakana characters that are spaced out well enough to be fairly easily grasped. I wish I had started this years ago!
