Great program

Very good program but App has some bugs

Bella PA

My daughter learned to read in just a few months using the App which I am very happy about. She’s done with all the lessons and all the bonus books but the App did not record that she has done all the lessons so she cannot open the rewards and she’s not happy about that.

Not good

Mack mama34

I have an 8 year old boy and it didn’t hold his attention. If I don’t sit with him he skips through the exercises and the app will let him move on. I’m trying to unsubscribe my payments but it won’t let me. Waste of money. Don’t bother. The school can offer free ones.

Needs to work out some kinks

It’s a good app but there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement. I really wish “aw” would be added to it because my son really struggled with “aw” words (saw, jaw) when we were doing sight words without the app. I wish you had to make the kids speak the words before they moved on. Because he can just click right through them. So I really have to be right on top of him when he’s doing this otherwise he’s not getting anything out of it. If my Spanish app requires me to say things in Spanish before I move on then there’s no reason why it can’t be on this app too. It’s an okay app. Just really needs a bit more tlc.

Awful execution

I have never been able to successfully login to this app, &/or remain logged in. It was continuously asking me to sign-up even though I already had a paid subscription. I have deleted, redownloaded, & asked how to fix the problem — without success! A complete waste of my money.

We are hooked

This has been informative for my daughter and areas she can improve in her reading and language art.

Glitches

Newest update: The new version is so terrible. It’s hard to move to his current level we are on from using the at home boxed set. How do we match up where we are at on the boxed set to this current version of the app? It’s so confusing to figure out where we are at, his progress, etc. This has completely undermined the value of our lifetime purchase and $200 we spent on the program because it doesn’t match up well at all, it isn’t complementing what we already have or where we are at. The old version MADE SENSE, it was clear and user friendly. This one doesn’t make sense and I’m okay with apps changing and being revamped, but I’m dying to have the old app back. It feels so random now when it comes to using the boxed set along with this app. How do we match up the app with the level 5 workbook? Update: Now has deleted all of his progress and his user entirely. We liked this app in the past, but we just picked up doing it again and it keeps glitching then losing our son’s progress. To where he suddenly has to try again to unlock each thing just to get to where he was. It’s sucking the joy out of his hard work having to do this and then it just glitches and goes even FURTHER back in levels. So he loses his stars and accomplishments from level 4 on. He was so motivated and enthusiastic to complete his goal today and kept trying even when it glitched and meant he had to go over things that were easy for him again, but after it sent him back to level 4 I just told him to wait until it can get fixed. This is his week off of school and he’s doing fantastic on his reading and so excited, it will be sad if this can’t be resolved ASAP and he can’t do it the rest of the week. It’s only Tuesday. ?‍♀️ This was expensive and I see from other reviews it was happening in September as well. It apparently hasn’t been fixed and it’s now nearing the end of November.

Works for first 3 letters only and it stopped.

I subscribed and its not working properly. It only works for first 3 letter AMT. and after that it stop! So frustrating Update: wish I never subscribed!

I am well aware of how kids are being taught to read in schools... and it’s all WRONG (listen to the ‘EDUCATE’ podcast, and you will see just how bad it really is!) Anyways, when my son was about 16 months I introduced him to Hooked on Phonics. This. Changed. Everything. By 19 months he could recite his ABC’s. By 21 months he would rearrange the fridge magnets with the entire alphabet. By 24 months he would SPELL things to me like when he wanted water, he would literally SPELL out ‘W-A-T-E-R’ as well as other things like ‘ I LOVE YOU’. Today, he is now 3.5yrs old, my child is reading level 5 books. There is not a single word that he cannot decipher. He isn’t just reading, he is actually COMPREHENDING the text. I encourage parents to use HOOKED ON PHONICS. It is also critical to understand how schools are teaching kids to read (see podcast ‘EDUCATE’ on NPR.. it is an award winning podcast,) & to look at the actual SCIENCE behind how children are learning to read. Hooked on Phonics is absolutely vital in a child’s journey to becoming a good reader. I cannot express to parents just how important it is to teach your child PHONICS first and foremost. I suppose you don’t need to take my word for it, just see the science for yourself!!

Great program. Lots of bugs.

The program is great! My daughter loves it and is learning. The frustration comes from not being able to log in. I have purchased a subscription but it continuously tells me to purchase a subscription and won’t allow me to log in. Extremely frustrating.
