Heartfeed RSS Reader

Do you want to read your news using RSS & Atom feeds in the most efficient, no-nonsense way, with no requirement to setup or use an existing service account? If you do, Heartfeed might be the app for you.

Using a compact grid to show all your feeds and make it easy to navigate between them, simply click on the interesting items to read the RSS-summary. You can then easily swipe to the next item, or if you want to read the news on the net, use the builtin browser which is essentially Safari, including all your logins, content blockers and so on.

As you read items, those items will be marked in the grid so you can quickly see what you've read and what you haven't. Also, you can mark all items as read with a single click; this you can e.g. use to mark all items read when leaving the app so that next time the feeds are updated, you can see all new items compared to your last time.

If you have multiple iOS devices, Heartfeed will synch your list of feeds between them using iCloud; no need to configure a third party service.

Also, if you are using the latest iOS devices where split view screens and/or multi-tasking are supported, Heartfeed fully supports the functionality.

There is also a darker Night mode theme, in case you want to read in darker environments.

The free version supports up to 3 feeds. You can always add any number of feeds to your fed list but at any given time, the grid is restricted to showing the top 3. To enable more feeds, you can buy unlimited feeds in the app for a one-time fee.

I hope you'll enjoy using the app!

Frequent crashes
The Day Doo

I really miss Pulse, so I love the layout, but this app crashes frequently. Some websites bring it down all the time, and if you want to open an article in an external browser to avoid the crash it's a 3 click process every time. My iPad is less than a year old, so it doesn’t seem like a hardware issue. If stability improved this would be a five star review.

Keeps getting better and better!

I’ve been using this app for several years now and it keeps getting better! I was a huge fan of the old Pulse app and how it displayed feeds and was heartbroken when LinkedIn killed it. Heartfeed brings back that simple feed view and looks great! The added new quick feed option is a thing I never knew I wanted until now. Fantastic RSS app!

Best, most efficient, RSS reader out there
JaviRo94_Blitz

I love the UI and it’s what initially drew me to use this app rather than other RSS apps. I am also very happy with all the updates. A question for the dev: is it possible to make splash-screen of the app dark as well when dark mode is turned on?

Finally, a suitable replacement for Pulse
Feushsuhduzudhsh

I’ve lamented the loss of Pulse to LinkedIn for years. This is the first app I’ve seen that replaces it with a similar look and feel, and most importantly, works well. Already updated for Xs Max resolution. Highly recommended for all former pulse users.

Finally able to read what I want
timnlea

The most optimized newsreader out. No more random articles. No more having to view what the app wants me to see first. I have the sites I visit most up top and easy to see (football, lifehacker, cinema etc.)while the rarely viewed only for slow news days sites are on down. It’s easy to see where I’ve left off and at a glance know if I’m current. It reminds me of game of thrones season 1...the most awesome thing you’re ever gonna see but takes the rest of the world a while to realize it ?

Worthy pulse news replacement!

Finally! I've been looking for a tiled RSS app forever, I can't believe I missed this one. Thank you! Take my money!!!

Outstanding! Needs search
Biox

Needs search capability, with option of limiting scope to title and/or body. This would be a suitable feature for subscription.

Finally a Pulse/Pulse News/LinkedIn Pulse clone
Rikitorongy

Heartfeed RSS Reader has the same concept (and GUI) like Pulse had years ago - it’s pretty cool! Unfortunately you can read only 3 feeds for free, you have to pay $2.99 to unlock unlimited feeds which makes me feel disappointed. I can understand the developers because there are no ads in the app and they want earn some bucks, but $2.99 is a bit high price for this feature. Please let me know if you will have a 33-100% discount, I will be happy to pay $0-1.99 to unlock unlimited feeds and give a better rating. Cheers

Best App to stay informed

Have been using it since it’s start ?

Old Pulse is back
Cameron Lee

Has everything I loved from pre-LinkedIn Pulse: grid view with thumbnails, night mode, nice looking reader mode. Finally! Update, years later: still love it, because developer keeps adding features. No paid subscription, would gladly pay for the app itself.
