Hayward System is a Rip off!

Scream Goat

We paid extra money to get this pool controller so that we could control the pool remotely when not home. It has been a complete rip off. The app is terrible and so is the extra equipment that we had to buy in order to use the terrible app. The system says it has lost its link regularly and requires a reset to connect , the controller and wireless station are no more than 20 feet apart. I called Hayward support to see if we could just run a data cable directly from the pool controller to the base station to avoid lost connection. I was told no. How crazy is that? The app itself is extremely bad, not intuitive and has the worst lag in communication with the system. There is no way to know if you have turned your spa on or off, if the heater is in or off. Setting the temperature is a complete nightmare. If you are thinking about buying a new pool controller, do not buy a Hayward system.

Worst App on My Phone

popkoop

I always dread having to go to this app to make adjustments to my pool. You would think Hayward would spend just a bit more to make their customers happy, but you would be wrong.

The worst

buspiv

Truly the worst app. Not user friendly. Incredibly delayed. Would do anything to replace our system with something other than Hayward because of this app.

Not great even when it works

Bhgtuh$@!

The app has been down for two days (login can’t connect “error=4”). The AquaConnectweb.com site is also unresponsive, rendering the mobile app completely useless. Even when it did work the user interface was very rudimentary - not what you would expect from a top brand like Hayward.

The worst app and system

Not Happy With Update!!!!! :/

This system never works. Ever. The most outdated and hard to use app. We are switching our whole system after 2 years of frustration.

Beautiful new pool, accompanied by a dinosaur app.

Shellfish70

Seriously… so embarrassing trying to control our 100,000$ pool with this lousy, out of date, dinosaur of an app. Your pool equipment is touted as the best out there, but yet, this app is completely useless. Why?? These reviews, along with mine prove that we were all duped! Someone needs to fix this! Take pride in the Hayward name, and fix this useless garbage!

Awful

Uverse nope

We used to have the hand held remote. It was ok but not great. Then it died and there’s no way to replace the battery. We were basically given a choice between the phone app and a very expensive handheld again. Given how iffy the hand unit was we opted for the phone app. It turned out to be drastically worse than the hand held. I can confirm all the negative comments here such as excruciating lag, unlinking, etc. it’s to the point when I want to use it I first go and reset the unit that’s plugged into my router because I know it won’t work. Then you click something like lights. You’ve got about a 20% chance they will come on. But you have to wait several minutes. If you click again they might MIGHT come in a few minutes then react to the second tap and go off again. And now all the labels say “null” so aside from the filter button that I know from memory is first, I can’t use it at all. This wireless part of the system is nearly useless and not at all worth paying for. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Worst pool app ever!

Fortune J

It basically does not work! Pool builder said it’s a known issue and Hayward still hasn’t fixed it

If I could give 0 Stars I would.

The Future Initiative

I have to assume this is a joke. It is so incredibly bad. I have never been so compelled to right a negative review. Hayward should be ashamed of this application. If I would have known this was what I was purchasing, I would have gone elsewhere just to get a different pool system. Not only is it a horrible app, it is down all the time, which I confirm when I go online and it states “service not available”. Pathetic.

Very poorly written service

JWCarew

App failed to login for two days last week, and now all I get after logging in is everything saying <null>.
