A good tool

MrsS105

Need an android option. I have to drag my I iPad and phone around the gym. Every tracking system has something that you will not like or choose to not use. Gym Goal is simple and effective. I generally shy away from tracking systems, however it is easy enough for a beginner and give enough feedback on progress that I feel it is worth the expense.

Great Workout App

Captquin

I generally don't pay for apps but this is worth. Great investment in yourself. Helps to track lifts so you keeps pushing and track body measurements as well. Also integrates with Polar HRM. Custom exercises are simple to add. Easier for me to create a split and add lifts on the fly rather than plan each lift on the day as equipment may be unavailable. Great app.

Great iPhone app, but watch needs help

I’ve used GymGoal since the first GymGoal, and have absolutely loved it. The ability to track your exercises, reps, have pictures and videos, and create custom exercises is great. The app works flawlessly on the iPhone. If i was to rate this for the iPhone portion, it’d be a five star app. The Apple Watch is a different story though, and if I could give the iPhone a 5, I’d give the watch portion a one star rating. The app constantly crashes on the watch, and you have to reopen it, and hope and pray that it will pair with your phone. The app says that you can start a routine that’s saved as a schedule directly from your watch, without needing your phone, but when you launch the app it says “open GymGoal on your iPhone”. But GymGoal is open on both devices but they don’t talk to each other. And now the new version doesn’t give you a notification on your watch when your rest period is up, so you have no idea when to start your next set. The potential is there for the Apple Watch portion and I hope that the developer fixes the issues. I love this app, and have used it for years, but if these Apple Watch portions aren’t fixed, I may have to look elsewhere.

Yikes!

I’ve been using this app for years and after the last update the sets and reps in established custom routines are gone. What happened?

DOESN’T WORK WITH APPLE WATCH!!!

KFM1959

UPDATE. GymGoal updated their software at the beginning of this week. After 3 workouts, my Apple Watch lost its connection for about 70% of my sets. And when it was connected, the timer between sets and the heart rate monitor where not always working even though they were both working on my iPhone. After the software update, my original review below still stands - GymGoal is useless with the Apple Watch: ORIGINAL REVIEW. Nice app for the iPhone but if you’re buying the app because they say it works with the Apple Watch, look for another app. The watch app doesn’t stay connected to the iPhone app. About 85% of my sets today didn’t connect at all. For the sets that were connected, I sometimes had the rest timer and no heart monitor (even though the app on my iPhone had the heart monitor) or no info on the set I was on. Totally forget running your workout from the watch. If the app doesn’t drop the connection it will sometimes takes you prior exercises than the one you are on. If you want to run your workout from your wrist either duct tape your iPhone to your wrist or try another app.

8.6.1

DougSFO

Something appears to have gone terribly wrong with 8.6.1. Won’t let me make any new up updates for new workouts or click on past exercises and the summary weight for past exercises show zero!!!

Doesn't work with iPhone X

Rupforce

Under the exercise view it can't create new log. The new log button is missing. Update : Issue was clarified by engr support. Thanks! Rating updated too.

Best app to track weightlifting

New 1mproved

I’ve been using this app for years, and it remains the best I’ve found for tracking weightlifting and gym workouts. Very customizable and easy to use. I love it. Thanks to the developer for the frequent updates!
