Great app for IPhone

tomalt3

I have been using the app for a couple of years and tried other apps. I love the versatility the app offers for my workout. I would go with the pro version. This is by far the best workout app I have seen. No other app compares.

Great app. Issue with latest version

mhc08

As of 1/2/19 my workouts started showing up in triplicate in my Apple Activity profile. This just happened today (1/2) but updated records back to 12/1/18.

Love GymGoal

jbetances134

Been using gymgoal for about 3 or 4 years now. It offers everything you can want in app. The reason for my 4 stars is because the UI is so outdated. Seriously needs to update the UI

The best weight training app out there.

Mike in FOCO

I’ve been using this app for a couple years now and I love it. This is the most versatile and comprehensive app out there.

Great workout tracker

Carsten Erickson

It’s the best.

Unintuitive, but still the best

$1K Master

The developer replied to my initial review as posted below and pointed out that setting up a schedule would accomplish the main thing I wanted: to put my routine on the home page to more quickly get started. Even though the home screen has an instruction on setting up a schedule, I never went through it because I don’t have a set schedule. As it turns out, setting up a 1-day cycle length did what I needed. I’d also like to follow up with my search for an app that more completely did what I wanted. Of the few I tried, one in particular came closest but was harder to read because it crammed all the exercises and sets on one screen, plus used a light shade of gray for the text which was hard to read until you checked off the exercise and the text turned black. I very much prefer how Gym Goal works in this regard. Another beef with the alternatives, which is a growing and depressing trend, is that they want you to pay a monthly subscription for features like charts of your progress. This is a disgusting money grab and one that Gym Goal doesn’t engage in. So I’m upping my rating to 5 stars. Yes, it has some intuitiveness issues, but like I said, once you get going and used to it, it’s fine. ____________________ I’ve used this app on and off for a few years now. While I appreciate the tremendous volume of features it offers, usability is a serious problem. Getting started with it is problematic because it’s not at all intuitive. Once you figure it out and get used to it, that’s not such a big deal. The more persistent problem with this app is that it takes far too many steps to get started on a routine.Tap... tap... tap... tap... tap. And tap some more. It’s crazy! Ideally I’d like to be able to customize the app’s home screen with my routines listed; select one and it automatically starts with my first exercise ready to log. Maybe have the routines listed with an icon next to it to auto-start and a second one to edit it. Something... ANYTHING.... would be better than what we have now. Honestly, I’m so tired of the app’s inefficient UI that I’m going to look for an alternative. Wish me luck.

Great app! Keeps getting better

ProfessionalGirl

This is still the best app for me over many years. Great flexibility to add custom exercises and programs.

Awesome Program

Bond,James

Been using this app for workout for 6 years. Keeps me motivated. Let’s you put your own program together. Identifies what body parts are affected with each set allowing you to put together a program that works out every muscle. Is updated regularly. Definitely recommend. I have the paid version. Worth every cent.

Totally worth it

cfrontc

Never regretted a cent of the price; totally worth it. This is the best way to keep track of your progress and plan your program. Still, it would be nice to be able to insert an exercise into a superset or *replace an exercise in a superset*. This is particularly helpful if some of the needed equipment is already in use.

Simply the best

Third review 8/8/2019 Still my favorite gym app. I try others, but always come back to this one. Indispensable. Second review It's been about two years since I first reviewed this, and my opinion hasn't changed: it's the best! I'll mention that I used the free version of the app for a long time, which worked perfectly for me, but I realized that I loved the app so much that I needed to support the developer by paying for the full version. Totally worth the money. Original review: I've tried many, if not most of the exercise tracking apps. For my weight lifting, this is the best. It's so flexible. You can add your own exercises, including options for assisted exercises and using two weights (Dumbbells) for an exercise. I still look at new offerings, but I always come back to GymGoal. It's worth the price.
