G.T.D. 2 Min Timer

It is surprising how much you can do in two minutes.

One of the key disciplines of the GTD ® process is the 2-minute rule:

“Do it. If an action will take less than two minutes, it should be done at the moment it is defined.”

So Get Things Done. Respond to emails. Do your online banking. Read an article. Make a phone call.

2 minute timer will help you to learn the skill of judging 2 minute tasks by giving you the simplest possible way to measure how long they take.

One tap on the application icon and your 2 minute timer will run. You will see the scroll wheels ticking down to show you how much time you have left.

In the spirit of GTD ®, there is an absolute minimum of fuss. One tap will launch the application and start the timer.

And of course, you are not limited to 2 minute timers. You can run any length of timer.

Your recent choices will even show automatically as shortcuts from the home screen (for devices with force-touch).

Nice for us GTD "learners"
Rich...!

Handy app, simple, easy, and cheap - keeps me on track which is pretty much what it promises. I think this is particularly nice for GTD noobs.

Finally, a simple to use timer! I use this timer everyday on several of my routines.

Great app at a great price!
Curb This

I've been waiting for a simple timer and now we have one for a great price! I like how you can change the timer to the exact amount of time you want counted down. Other apps only let you count down a set amount of time. Works great! Keep up the good work Hobbyist!!

Simple, straightforward app

Very simple, easy to use app. I like that the timer automatically starts when the app is launched. Perfect for keeping me to 2 minute tasks (or 1 or 3 or 5 or...).

Love it

This is a great little program and a must for anybody who needs a timer. From doing laundry to "I bet you can't down those beers in 2 minutes", you'll be amazed and how often you really do need a quality timer in your life.

Best timer out there!

I've tried lots of timers, and this is the one I'm keeping on my first page of apps. The big differences? - It starts a 2-minute timer as soon as you open it. No need to even press Start. This is what you really want, especially if you're using it for GTD's anything-you-can-do-in-two-minutes-you-do-right-away rule. It may not sound like much of a difference, but it is. - It shows the seconds counting down in the familiar iPhone time-setting scroller, which for some reason is much more compelling than the usual mm:ss clock format. - At any point, you can just press Reset to start a new 2-minute countdown. So if you finish a task sooner, you're ready to go again with the absolute minimum effort. - At any point, you can drag the minute scroller to start a new countdown. So if you're halfway through the two minutes, you can just drag the minute-wheel to four minutes and it starts counting down again instantly (also resetting the seconds to :00). - On the options page, you can set the default time, so that when you open the app it immediately starts a ten minute timer, or 15 minutes, or whatever. It may not sound like much until you use it, but it's actually a completely new and different interface for a timer, and new way of using the iPhone time-setting controls. Ingenious, and perfect for the intended use.

Easy to use
hollyvinyl

Very simple and easy to use. I only wish it had the option to repeat the interval. This way if you have multiple two minute tasks, it can help keep you on track without having to stop what you're doing in order to start the timer again. Thanks!

Meh

It doesn't work in the background. So much for reading an article or doing online banking.

No ticking sound since os4?
Dgs123

I loved this app - until OS4 came out. Now I can't get it to make any ticking sound! Please update!

does not work
gravitas2030

the alarm function does not work also realized that one can use the timer on the world clock - for free - to do the same thing....
