New app is a downgrade

Which genius thought it would be a good idea to not have the train schedules readily available. The old app was sufficient, now it’s some convoluted process where the app tries to figure out where you’re going - talk about over-engineering the solution such that it’s not useful for 99% of the population. Please roll back your app code and get it right before you release a useless version next time.

Recently GoPass updated the app. Bad update. First the positives. I can still buy a ticket. More steps involved, but I can still buy a ticket. So much for the positives. The PIN has been reduced to 4 characters from 6. In this day of identity theft, reducing security is a terrible idea. The screen is more difficult to read. Previously the fare officer would glance at the phone and keep going. Yesterday the Fare Enforcement officer took a very long look before deciding that I had actually bought a ticket. But, wait. There’s more. The guy seated across from me was telling the officer that he had bought a ticket but he could not find it. Seriously. That hard to read. She was able to help him find his ticket. There were great features in the app previous version called Where’s My Train and Where’s My Bus. These great, useful features are gone. There is some form of trip planner added but it just brings up bizarre, other worldly information. “Nearest Stop” will be 2 miles away or more even when my actual stop is a hundred yards away. Plan on ONLY using this to buy a ticket. That is unfortunate because tñhe previous version had some useful features

I downloaded the app to know my train schedule but they removed that feature, but if you are going to buy a ticket then I guess that’s the only useful thing on this app

You can’t plan a trip in advance

I got the app hoping to plan out a trip from the airport but it will only let you plan from where you are. It would be nice to plan the trip so you know what to expect when you get there. It is possible to plan online.

It has a huge flaw!

This app seems to have a good user interface, but it poses no use to me. It's lacking the option to purchase a High school reduced pass. It is mind blowing that a developer would release this app to the public with this option missing. I truly hope this issue is fixed ASAP!

Horrible for Visitors

As someone from out of town, this app was horrible. Times were not right, routes were not accurate, and drop off locations were having us cross major highways to connecting routes. Never again!

Works just fine, when everyone is on time

I’ve been using the app since before the re-skinning and have to say I have run into very few issues. I like the new look and design of the app, but the app only works when your busses are on time and haven’t turned their tracking off. Now I understand that there are factors to consider when it comes to arrival times, but when it comes to standing in the hot Texas sun for 40 minutes and waiting for a bus that never shows, even though the app displays that it’s “On Time” really hurts the credibility of this app and of DART. I would recommend this app, but unfortunately it would be a moot point, because I wouldn't recommend using DART as a means to travel.

Quick to take your money for busses that can’t arrive on schedule or better yet a schedule that doesn’t agree with website schedules!!!

Which makes this app nearly useless, to me. It is now just a payment kiosk.

Thank you to whoever designed the new version. I used to dislike this app. I was always forgetting my password now that’s easier. It’s more intuitive. It gives suggestions to places (and yes I’m aware it’s probably ads but it’s well done). Tracking and buying tickets is also easier. I’m very happy now!!! Thank you :)
