Stories constantly crash with “there was an error displaying this content” message.

It seems Google news has & is a very left wing & negative news source. Too bad wants to slant news to its own opinion instead of just giving its subscribers fair & non opinion reporting. What happened to just reporting the news. I really don’t need your opinion. I’m a adult with an education and have the knowledge to form my own opinions. Do you remember Uncle Walter, Huntley-Brinkley & McNeil-Lehrer? You need to get some class.

So much news doesn’t actually show up on this news app because it’s too busy showing random blogs about bedsheets or something, rather than actual news. And if it does show actual news, most likely it will be several days old. Why show me a news story from a week ago THAT I READ ALREADY?!? Afraid of showing actual news sites?

Too many adds. Too much clickbait. Anytime you click on a link that’s supposed to be an interesting photo its not there. You get bombarded by unwanted ads and directed to another page. This is not a news app, just a platform for ads to peddle to screen junkies.

Good algorithm, frustrating UI

This app has so many good things going for it, but they are being torpedoed for me by some sort of UI error that resets my view to the top of the list of articles under the “for you” section after every article I read. It is extremely frustrating when I am near the bottom of the list of my new news articles to be brought all the way up to the top of a list of dozens of articles with images. I then have to try to remember where I was and what I have already seen. It used to happen rather infrequently, but now it is happening almost every time I leave an article. I am strongly considering switching to Apple News.

The app constantly fails and worse resets in mid read of the news so that you always have to keep trying to scroll down to find the bottom but if there’s an update or any change it just reset you and take you all the way back to the top.

I’m an Apple person, so naturally had Apple News on my phone. Recently I began getting bizarre “Top Stories” updates on my watch, which I didn’t want and couldn’t seem to clear. I finally deleted Apple News from my phone in frustration. I just replaced it with Google, and am so much happier with the range and quality of the headlines presented. How nice to wake up without the constant barrage of Covid-only news!!!
