Fabulous Freddie G.
This app loads and refreshes every time on 8.1.2. Even the links work.

This app runs okay, but is not very useful in selecting events. It needs: 1. Calendar search to show only events for a given day. 2. Text size control; it is too big on an iPad.

Without the ability to search for events by date (or see a calendar), it is impossible to look for events at any time other than 'today', the one option given. Pretty much a deal breaker. This app would be great if this was possible, and in fact previous versions could do this. Also, putting events on a map would be a big help in searching for what is playing where.

It has great potential but is just an outdated marketing stunt. App fail = poor PR, Conde Nast!

I use this app primarily for seeing art and I find many of the events listed are past their closing date making it cumbersome to sort through what is actually a show/exhibition you can still go see. Otherwise, it's a fine resource.

I love the idea of this app because I love The New Yorker. And I love the stylish look of it: the beautiful visuals grab you as you soon as you open it. But my love dwindles fast after that. First of all "Goings On," if that is indeed what you are, how can we know what's going on if you don't update the dang thing? Why are you still featuring on your cover page Clive Owens in RTC's 2015 production of "Old Times" when it left the building a long time ago? ("Previews begin September 17") Why, when I look at "Goings On Today" today (April 16), do I find the first recommendation is dated March 4? (Ozu festival at Film Forum... Oh yeah, I remember that, it was cool.) What's with the little spinning wheel and "update in progress" sign that goes every time I open the app... But which doesn't actually update? If this app could get its act together and give fresh content every day, then it will be on to something great. Otherwise, stick to the magazine - it's way more reliable, and has wonderful reporting and writing to boot.
