*Please patch to fix audio drop out when pressing waveform button when recognizing currently playing song while using headphones. Really takes you out of the music.* I loved this app on my Android but there’s a big feature missing for me on iOS. That’s not having the App recognize Spotify is open and showing now playing in Genius and keeping up with it in real time and showing the lyrics as the songs come and go. If this gets added it will be 5* no question.

So I originally got this app because I just wanted to be able to have the lyrics up when I’m playing a song. I didn’t know until a few days ago that if you tap on some of the highlighted lyrics it tells you what they mean, and who they could be about. I absolutely love the annotations of different songs, and I’ve been trying to think of every song I’ve always wanted to know what the meaning behind it was. I will say though, I’ve had a few problems with the app recently. So, my first issue is the lag in the searching of a song. I haven’t had a problem with this today, but it’s been happening pretty frequently and I’ve had to close and reopen the app and try again. Another issue is I love playing my songs on Spotify and then finding the lyrics and singing along, but when I get to a certain part of the song an ad pops up on the lyrics page, and my song stops playing. I try to just play it again but it won’t play unless the ad isn’t anywhere on the screen. This is extremely irritating because I can’t finish a song like this. Overall I think it’s a fun app, but it could use some work.

I don’t mind the ads. I realize the developers have to eat. My issue is every time I scroll down to the part the advertisement with animation appears it pauses the song I’m playing. I have to close out of the app, restart the music on the music app and come back to this app only for the music to pause again when the ad interferes. Repeat endlessly. Please fix!

this app use to be great, but then it just went to uttershit. most of the time it just freezes when i tap on a song or not open at all. what happened genius? this use to be such a great and informative app. disappointing

Thank you so much for fixing this app! I love Genius, and the whole concept of it, but duh to how lag-filled the app was, it was actually easier to just go to the website. Now only takes a few seconds to load everything. It’s so much better now. The only thing I would suggest is make the ads to where they don’t turn off my music when I get on the app. Sometimes I’m reading the lyrics while listening to a song, and then a random ad just stops my music and totally “ruins the mood”, if you will. Other than that, I love this app and hope you continue to work on it!

Using the app is sometimes tedious. My biggest problem is the advertisements on Genius are constantly disabling my music playback so its an impossibility to simultaneously read and listen.

I love this app but It doesn’t load when I open it. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and still won’t work. I even restarted my iPhone X :/
