I am a passionate GOF player. I am a member of the wiki too. This game used to be great but stupid players only care about NAPs. I want competition without the threat of 70 alliances. They have ruined it. The only way to last in this game is to join an alliance. But their stupid leaders only care about peace. The rules are overrated. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUN IN AN MMO WITHOUT COMPETITION! It's not the game's fault, it's the players. I seized about 20 planets from active players and got kicked from an alliance for expanding territory? Some honorable mentions for crappy alliances would be RED DAWRF, UNITED PLANETS, and ELECTRO GRAVITY. All have crappy leaders, members, and rules.
The one star is to get your attention

Don't get me wrong I love this game it is unique fun and challenging but the restrictions put on by the developers to either make it a pay to win or prevent one high level dude from taking over the whole world the game would be way better with either or more balanced point gaining system or cutting out those leveling constructions
