No iOS 10 integration

Could be better if the app has OS-level integration such as Notification Center widget similar to what Apple News has. Also, I wish adding a website to follow is easier.

Laden with ads and pop ups

I've been using flipboard for about 4 years now and I use to love it. Now... Junk! It's all but unusable now with all the ads that pop up and cover 95% of your screen. Good job, you've killed this one time wonderful app for me

Flipboard No More

I used to love this app, when I first got it. Over the years, the intrusiveness of the pop-up ads has gotten worse and now it's just irritating and annoying. Today is the second time I've been confronted with a potentially malicious ad that only allows a yes click, otherwise you have to force quit the app. And now I've also noticed auto-play video ads with no way to turn that crap off. So, I'm done. I don't need this in my busy life and there are alternatives. Way to go, Flipboard, by taking a good thing and ruining it and chasing your customers away. I now look forward to you and your advertisers demise. There's always someone waiting to fill the gap left by the greedy out of touch like you.

My favorite app!

I don't know what you guys are talking about when you say you have pop up ads and stuff. I've NEVER had a pop up. I'm on it several times a day and have made over 40 magazines on it. It's one of my favorite apps!

Constant ads is annoying

angiedepdx

I have been using Flipboard since it came out. My favorite of all apps. But since they started with the ads reading news has become a nightmare. You click on one article and these ads start popping up or just show up making reading very intrusive to a point that I don't want to ready anything at all. I spend more time trying to close the ads or trying NOT to to click on them when scrolling down the page. VERY DISAPPOINTING ??

Not impressed

Zite was way better. FB has lots of clickjacks and too many stories that aren't really news. And there appears to be no way to block stories featuring the Kartrashians.

Why?

Use to be alright, but they started infecting links with their own garbage and redirects. So much of the content isn't built for Flipboard (they keep it top secret how to code websites to function with flipboard, I've asked them and they aren't telling, but ironically they keep trying to convince websites and bloggers that it is a great place for their content.) None of that would be terrible if they just provided links to articles, but they try to embed websites inside their own app which never works and then to really take annoying users to the next level, they started infecting links like I just mentioned, so you cant even open articles in your web browser. They even hide the url from you and load some flipboard @ flipboard8363672883 dot com nonsense. They pointlessly block you from using the dictionary or even selecting text. Nothing works offline. Maybe for their next feature they could turn off all your alarms, delete all your emails, and give you the flu.

Dev greed overcomes cool Tech

I originally have this app 5 stars. It was the first thing I checked every morning. But the pop-up ads so overwhelm the stories you're trying to read that sometimes it's virtually impossible to finish a story without accidentally clicking on numerous stupid ads. It's hard to describe how intrusive these are unless you experience it. It's too bad; I initially titled my original review, "The app I wished I'd invented." No longer.

Needs an Ad-Blocking Function for Articles

When Flipboard first came out, it was exactly what I've been looking for. As time passed, more and more articles started supporting ads. It's fine and I understand that the various websites and blogs need the ads to support themselves. But now I can't read an article without a video or an audio ad popping up randomly and interrupting. The 'algorithm' that picks out the articles for various topics are also picking out more 'sponsored content' articles, which are basically a sales pitch. I keep blocking the tricked and thumbs down but that doesn't seem to stop them. This app used to be excellent but it's just annoying now. I'm currently looking for a better alternative.

The Best News App

Please create a widget. Also, there are malicious adds which have killed my Flipboard nirvana. Threads do not always update, or are invisible. Please fix. I miss my Flipboard. It would be nice if newer comments were at the top so that constant scrolling to the bottom weren't necessary. I don't like how I am taken out of Flipboard 20 % of the time, as I use the app also to have a more comfortable reading font size. In any case, no app's perfect, and I do like the integration of Force Touch; again, I look forward to a widget soon!
